SZ400 driver was the apple of my eye for several years.

And of course, the L4V. I still think of that driver like I think of my first serious girlfriend. If I tried to revisit it, it's just not as good as it was the first time, or as good as I will always remember it. But at the time...oh wow.

My wife picked one of those up for me at a yard sale for $3.00. It has a Harrison Striper stiff shaft, and the crown looks like it has been used to hit rocks. Still in the bag though, like you said, never had a 3 wood that good off the deck.

I haven’t been around long enough to have any of the deep tracks, but a few of my favorites that are at least a few models old now and still get a lot of buzz are:

Taylormade 2016 M2 driver - just plain long for me

Cobra F6 Baffler - goes places most fairway woods can’t

Srixon 745 irons - this iron set just hit all of the right notes for me

None of these clubs are in the bag right now, but I can’t seem to get rid of them. Every time I walk in the garage they yell, “Hey dummy, remember how well we played together!”

    Absolute legend status.

Agree on the 2016 M2 8.5 - nothing can beat it and I keep coming back to it. Next contender is the M5 I just purchased - supposed to be really good, so we'll see, but not holding my breath.

How has no one mentioned the 2016 M2 Tour Issue Deep Face fairway woods? These things are absolute beasts. I have mine 4W loft (16.8 degrees) and I still see ballspeeds in excess of 160 (max driver BS on monitors is 165). It is so easy to launch, yet incredibly hot and low spin. Plus it sets up open which negates my tendency to overcook it left.

Cleveland TA5 Gunmetal irons. I traded in a set of the original TA3 irons for them. TA3’s were so much better.

I still kick myself for buying mp30 over mp32 because even though I couldn't tell a forgiveness difference I figured the little bit of cavity back would make it more forgiving.

I still want a mint set of mp32s.

Cleveland Tour Edition 485 wedges in Beryllium Copper. Back when Roger Cleveland WAS Cleveland Golf. Only wedges that were on par with the Vokey 2009 Red Saws. And while I’m at it, the Vokey 2009 Red Saws. Many of us would still be using them if the USGa weren’t fascists.

Last year I got my wife a Lady Fairway chipper. Best $20 ever.

It's an obscene shape, and looks more like a metallic gold pleasure toy than a golf club. The only thing more embarrassing than a chipper is a chipper that looks like it belongs in the bedroom.

It's impossible for her to bring it out on the course without somebody asking what the **** it is.

    Oh, and Mizuno MP33.

Ping Eye 2's, Mizuno MP32's and Taylormade V-steel fairways for sure. I'd also put the TM Superquad up there... at least for me
