One US Open question caused the ‘worst day’ of Holly Sonders’ life

I do remember her getting criticized for this but it was because of criticism of the Fox coverage in general ad how poor it was. That first open at Chambers Bay was awful for Fox (mistaking players, missing shots, Joe Buck in general).

I personally go back and forth on whether or not I like Holly or not. I did enjoy her on the Golf Channel but the decisions she has made with her career in the last couple of years is mind-boggling.

I thought it would have been the day she married Erik Kuselias

Meh, no reason to hate or roast the chick, bad days and lessons are all subjective to us and we have no idea what is involved unless you are in their shoes. All in all the Fox broadcast was just miserable, and her little botch ranks so far low on why it sucked, its not like it was Steve Harvey announcing the wrong winner. Golfwrx has a weird obsession with trashing her.

Wait until it is revealed she uses super GIs.

That was a dumb question and should have been off-the-table. Do these folks not get an opportunity to read and review potential post-game interview questions based upon the different circumstances should a particular player win? Her time as a golf analyst on a different network should have given her the insight that it was a dumb question that needn't be asked even if in jest.

Did Fox have a cocaine related question queued up for her had DJ won?

It's amazing how different the picture in the op looks compared to how she looks now.

If thats the worst day of her life, Id say shes lived a pretty privledged life. This is why I stopped listening to Paige's podcast though. Every episode is a fluff piece where the girl is always the victim and the boys are all just so mean.

Joking or not, it was a dumb question and she fully deserved to get roasted for it. If she cant handle people being critical of her, perhaps she needs to lead a more private life and not be in the public eye.

That podcast was just a pity party for how Holly's career came off the rails and an excuse for everything. She talks about plastic surgery and how fake the Kardashians are and it's ok for her. No mention of how bad the quality of hers was though and she is cross eyed now because of it. No mention that she is a homewrecker and that Vegas Dave is a fraud that lies and steals from people. No mention of how she talks so much crap on social media and isnt nice to anyone yet she expects people to put her on a pedestal. Holly had it made in her career then she started to get put of control with drugs, her mouth, and thinking she was invincible.

Was she serious with the question or was it clearly a joke?

Jeez, I've heard plenty worse questions.

I'm actually curious as to why anyone would listen to a Paige Spiranac podcast?

Funny, young, cute, interesting guests, unique perspectives, good stories, etc..

A lot of you guys should consider toning down the jerk factor.

By the way, best of luck to Holly. Intense media scrutiny is hard and causes a lot of people to spiral. I’m not saying she’s spiraling, but rather pointing out that it’s not easy and many of you should probably take it easy on the personal attacks. Believe it or not, these people read these comments.

Yup, people hate on Paige, but she has gotten better at the content, and is making decent stuff (free on YouTube, so quit complaining people). Holly was always a sidekick type on the Golf Channel to me, so I'm happy she got her chance, but kinda botched it. Oh well. Nobody is perfect and it's not like she's not owning up to it. I'm not even a Sonders fan, but she doesn't even deserve all that criticism. Lots of other people in her role who aren't very good yet don't get the same flack (as in her male counterparts). I think we all need to have an open mind on people we see on TV, men or women (especially women, as I'm first to admit I have my biases since I'm not as used to seeing women talking sports).

In fact, Holly should be applauded for feeling like that's her worst day, since it means she really takes her job seriously and truly cares for it.

This is where I stand on the issue. It was just adding to the already horrendous FOX covereage and got a little more play than normally would have, say if it was for a regular TOUR event. The stakes were high, it was a week of the worst US Open coverage that ever existed, potential playoff happening, new course, and then this question was dropped in primetime national broadcast. Her mistake was just part of the larger failing that was that week.

I don't think there is a jerk factor with Paige. Overall, I like her and she is a positive for the game. However, it is a negative when the first half of the podcast she is talking about the lack of respect she gets from men and then the 2nd half of the podcast is dedicated to tips on how to "approach/pickup" the cart girl.

If this is the worst day of her life, she doesn't have much to complain about.
