Kirkland Signature (Costco) golf balls (MERGED) (NO BST POSTS)

Our Clarkston, Wa. Costco store has the K-3's for the first time. I wonder if they are still making them or just selling off what they have. Bring on the new K-4. I loved the Ksig but did not get to try the k-4.

I never saw the K-3 in our store until the very end of fall this year, and I went by yesterday and they still had a number out and a "reserve" stack I happened to see on a shelf nearby. I'm assuming they've gotten the 3 piece ramped up to the point where we'll see those in stores regularly, and hopefully the new 4 piece will be on that same trajectory.

There are K3 balls for sale in Seattle and Portland stores. I was kind of surprised to see them, it isn't exactly golfing season in the PNW.

Saw K3 in a store in NJ.. first time ever.. really don't need balls but grabbed a box just for the heck of it.. $25 for 2 dozen? why not.

So what does the K3 compare to?

K3 is now available at my Costco as well. It's the first time we've had Kirkland balls. I'm still holding out for the new four piece though.

K3's available in Perrysburg for a few weeks.

The 3 piece is softer off the putter than the 4.

More spin and a little shorter according to test reports.

For me, no issues off of the woods in terms of distance. I did find it ballooned some on short irons into greens.

I'm low 100s driver swing speed, and I am not a high spin player. K3 is not shorter for me than KSig, but does spin less from inside 80 yards.

Apparently it's not so easy to consistently source a high-quality, 4-piece, tour-level golf ball that one can sell for $15/dozen. Who could have predicted this?

Based on what we saw out of the 3 piece, that could be a while if you're waiting on the new ball to show up in stores. The 3 piece was regularly available online for well over year (IIRC) before they just now started showing up in most stores, and were only sporadically available online before that. If the new ball follows suit, even if they get the issue resolved (I'm confident they will), it may be a while before they ramp up production to the point where they're on most shelves.

they had a great ball with new K4, loved the feel and distance, just that dang blast cover issue :) I would have played that ball...dont like the K3, and we wont see the OG K4 back

Have faith, I think we'll see the KP+ back at some point. Those in the know have reported that the cause is known and it's not a hard fix, and I can't believe that Kirkland would have gone down that road without confidence they could sustain them. They may well take extra time to be 100% sure the issue is resolved, but I'd be shocked if they just gave up after all the time and effort that's been invested.

What are people using as a replacement ball to the OG Ksig?

I liked the length off the tee, minimal effect by the wind, and amount of spin with wedges.

Played a round this week in Vegas with rental clubs and decided to bring a sleeve of the K3's. Still a fan of this ball from a short game perspective as it can be spun very nicely with wedges and feels nice coming off the putter face. Still a bit too spiny off the driver though, although it could be a rusty swing contributing to that.

I played yesterday, I have been only playing the K3 exclusively lately (cause I am cheap).

I love the ball for normal play. A lot of spin on ALL shots lol, even on driver but not enough to be a bad thing. It does everything pretty good. Long enough, spinny on full shots. Great spin on pitch shots, enough spin on chip shots.

Until I played yesterday in a constant 20-25mph wind LOL, the extra spin was killing me... but kind of funny too LOL. Switched to a Prov it was a bit more manageable.

Ive had this experience before where I played on a really windy day, I thought it was mostly me sucking that day. However I am guessing the K3 didn't help either.

K3 isn't something I would play if I am playing a really windy course. I have played it on breezy days with no problems, gusty days forget about it lol

Since the K3 appears to be widely available, you have to ask where Costco got all of these abandoned cores. There must be warehouses filled with them for as far as the eye can see. Amirite?!?!?! ;)

As we all know by now, k3 is great if you need more spin- tee to green. Had a good laugh yesterday. Played k3, spun back a 6i 10 ft (a little more than 3 paces) How’d I know? It was the only ball in my threesome on the green and there was only one pitch mark, with a clean trail between the morning dew back to where my ball was sitting. Never thought I’d spin back a 6i!

I still love this ball for the price, especially in the winter slop of the pnw.

I think the "core overrun" theory (which I never bought into) only applied to the original 4 piece ball. I don't know that anyone is applying that to the 3 piece or the new 4 piece.
