No doubt. That thing seems to be sequenced like a mofo... Interested, but the head shape looks exactly like the GBB, which for some reason didn't do it for me. I thought my GBB felt clunky (I could have just got a bad one). I just couldn't find any consistency with that thing. My M2 has been a monster, but I'm interested in the early returns on this thing.

Saw this thing in hand today, definitely looks GREAT! Fit and finish seem way better than what I've seen from Callaway in the past. The top crown sort of reminds me of the way the carbon fades with the new Fusion driver. The shape is very nice and every thing looks really good. I was going to hit it but had to leave before my buddy was taking it out. The head cover looks cool too.. looks like a winner from Cally for sure.

 

I hit both today and all I can say is the hype is real. I saw some significant gains over my sub zero, and that club was very dialed in for me. I was also able to see the cutaway driver some very interesting tech. Should be a very good year for Callaway and as stated before I think it hits conforming list 12/2 it will be interesting to see how many non-staffers put it in play.

Hearing Callaway is going hard this year to be the #1 driver on tour. Seems pretty lofty to me considering the success of the M2 on tour but hey I wish them the best. Look forward to hearing how all of this works for the Callaway Trip.

 

Cally will need to pay staffers like TM does if they want to go after #1 ranking. If this driver is that good, I'm sure tons of tour staffers will want to bag it.

 

They need to modify their contract structures and allow driver only. I wouldn't want to be forced into a full bag contact/deal.

 

I think they already have in some way. Pat Perez still rocks a callaway bag and pm grind wedges but won with pxg irons and m2 woods in the bag

Certainly a lot of the Callaway staffers will game it if it's good, but I'm just as interested as some of you to see if it is good enough to tempt people away from their M2's. I mean the M2's are EVERYWHERE!!!!

 

I mean Callaway has really been stepping it up. The drivers are good and building, the Apex Pro 16 and CF16 and very strong offerings, their wedges are very nice (especially with the custom shop if you're into that sort of thing), and they have Odyssey & Toulon, which will only get better in the coming months/years. That makes a strong bag if you want to go 100% one brand.

Yes, you did. One is modelled after the GBB (weight track) and the other after the Sub zero (front and back weight). I think the new Sub zero looks awesome, and will more than make up for them not making the original SZ for lefties^^

Seems to be just a filler until the PGA show. However, the Fusion probably did a lot better than some expected.

 

Also, maybe it was a way to test the market for the carbon fiber/shorter option driver?
