I'm no fence sitter, but maybe they're all right? Maybe Callaway is coming out with something very limited and very expensive. It's just not the Epic.

There might be some limited version. But the 2 versions i know of wil be priced in line with the rest of the Industry. Also the rods that connect crown and sole are 3 grams each.

I find it interesting that we basically have to beg Cally to release the Sub Zero, custom wedges, MB1........but somehow they think a $1k+ driver is a great idea? That thing better be epic. I'll start saving my pennies for the paltry $500 version.

Maybe they have two drivers coming out cuz I spoke with a Callaway Exec in Vegas and he said their driver will be very limited and meant to "compete" in the Titliest

There is NO WAY they are going to mass market a driver at $1,000 and limit the release. Not going to happen.

 

Maybe the information you heard was for the EPIC SubZero, similar to the limited release of the XR16 SubZero this year, but ain't going to happen for the standard model.

 

Guess I'll be sticking with M2. I wouldn't even TRY the club for $1000+, and SZ is the only one that interests me. Count me out.

Why not $1,000 Titleist released a limited run of the C16 for $1,000. Had all the 917 technology back in March. My C16 still outperforms the 917 I have. Evidently slightly better premium materials were used that drove the cost to $1,000

Saw the new SZ this week along with a SZ 3 wood, and they both look awesome!! Tech makes total sense, and you don't need an engineering degree to understand it. Callaway is going to change the way drivers are built.

All the posts about a $1000 driver are totally incorrect. It's really a disservice to a company to post such misinformation. Unless you know for 100% certainty, it's best to keep quiet.

 

The new driver will be right in line price wise with the latest offerings from other top OEM's. Look for for a combo of ballspeed, spin reduction & forgiveness that is unmatched in the industry. You'll see real deal results, not just BS marketing hype.

Exactly. People aren't reading the full thread becasue if they did they would see the information is incorrect and the price point will be in line with your 499 price point.

This is coming from someone with Callaway irons in the bag and a Callaway driver being delivered hopefully today.

 

Over the past few years, Callaway has become extremely proficient at two things. First, their Marketing has stepped up greatly through direct media but also through more organic Marketing such as our very own site. The seed gets planted with a few key individuals and then it takes on a life of it's own. I'm not sure that any OEM has created such a buzz with new products.

 

Now, even more importantly, Callaway has created some amazing new products in all categories. The Chrome soft is a great ball and the face cup technology has been very beneficial to those of us less gifted in allowing less than perfect strikes to perform nearly as well as perfect contact.

 

The combination of those two points led to some positive results for Cally financially as well as performance wise.
