They were showing a couple of TWs Masters wins on GC yesterday. Insane. Hed get over a 12 footer and you *knew hed make it.

TW 1.0 aint comin back. But 3.0 has proven he can suck it up and win. If he gets hot, he could win a good bit. A Major would be redemption. Hopefully, he will get a dozen or so chances to compete in majors and bag one or 2 more.

We have to at least be on Tiger 6.0 by now.

Lol, no.

Maybe 3.0.2

; )

1. Amateur-1997 Tiger

2. Harmon rebuild era

3. Haney didn’t get a popsicle Tiger

4. Foley crap and tilt Tiger

5. Como/back pain Tiger

6. Comeback Tiger.

Yep 6.0

Just out of curiosity, when did Rory become the arbiter for the entertainment value of golf matches?

When a bunch of butthurt Tiger sniffers got their panties in a knot because he said he wasn't going to buy yesterday's charade on PPV.

Not this again.

Shameless exhibition of two cheapskates promoting corporate greed. Next time play with your own $.

Phil isn’t a cheapskate. From everything I’ve heard, he’s quite generous.

Wouldn't that describe any modern sporting event? There are a lot of corporate sponsor dollars involved in the weekly PGA tournaments.

What a DISASTER for all the corporations involved. They made ZERO $ from PPV while getting flamed for charging $20 for this.

If they made this $0 from the beginning, at least they'd have made face.

this plus so-so plays from both Phil and TW..

This was like watching Mayweather vs Pacman. . a spectacular event that happened 5 years too late

Yup. The whole "play for your own money" comment is asinine at best. Why would they play for their own money on TV so that others could profit from it? They're bringing the talent and the viewers and they should put up all of the money too? They put in hundreds of thousands to charity as is.

I suppose NFL players should pay their own salaries too. I'm yet to hear any rational support for the "Put up your own money" argument. They keep repeating it nonetheless.

I'm guessing there was a cut from the betting action? Corporate sponsor?

The PGA Tour limited the side bets that Tiger and Phil could use. They really do like to take our fun away.

“Sources close to the event said the Tour limited the number of challenges between Woods and Mickelson. In the end, the side action totaled $800,000 and went to various charities.”

I don't understand that. It's like tiger's wife telling him he could only sleep around with 8 other women. Nine is going to be a problem.

I don't have the same trust in Tiger to make key putts that he used to back in his prime. Today was another reason to think that.

I don't think mentally Tiger can handle the pressure quite like he use to. The Tour Champ's may have been the exception as we've seen him looking mentally fragile in the key pressure moments time and again this season. I'm really curious to see how he stacks up next season.

Lol here comes CR again, chip in on 17 begs to differ

One great shot doesn’t mask all the other poor shots. Exception rather than the rule.

He played well on the back nine and 18 in regulation so where did he crumble under the pressure? He could very well have won had he not given Phil that putt on 18 but you just see what you want to see

Given the fact that the PPV aspect of this match was a disaster with refunds being offered, and the fact that a lot of the match was shown for free on a fairly obscure streaming site, we'll probably never know the actual viewing audience. In any case, the financial bottom line must have been poor. If anyone sees a cogent analysis of this aspect, please post a link.

So, today we're seeing that they needed 700,000 or so PPV customers to break even, and everyone is getting their money back. Somebody took a bath on this thing.

Everybody needs a bath - could you really feel clean watching it?

Just kidding, just happened to click on B/R after Iowa's 4th in a row over Nebraska and there it was! I watched.

Pretty boring for the most part, didn't care for the contrived skills challenge to determine the winner (regardless of who won), loving that only Vegas likely made money on this (except for Phil, lol).

Only listened to lame talk (all Phil's) hoping he would give his brother a stock tip.

Did anyone keep track of what their actual individual scores were? Sorry, I can't go through 58 pgs to find the answer....lol. All I know is that they weren't exactly "lightin' it up".

Around 69, but that includes putts given and Tiger’s on 18 was no gimme

Many recreational golfers bet with their own money...for once, many would like to see how the pros act when their own money is on the line. Anyone who plays golf (and bets) knows there is a massive difference between playing for someone else's money (ie. member/guest, charity event) and your own wallet.

Golfers don't want bifurcation because we want to play the same "game" as the pros (silly, imho, as they play a completely different game!)...so for a change, we would like the see the pros play the same game as us.

PS. Give me a rational reason why I'm not paid to volunteer at Riviera every year...what other business gets free labor! They could easily cut the purse by 20% and pay the volunteers - and the golfers would still make plenty of money.
