Any new TM drivers in the works?

Recommended Posts

That’s exactly what it was, Crossfield used an ultra light Evenflow shaft to match up with the Launcher’s shaft. Would’ve been much different results if he matched up the M6 with a shaft better fit for the head. The launcher is designed with that ultra lightweight shaft in mind. I absolutely love Crossfield’s content but I’ll take that video with a grain of salt.

Let me guess Cleveland wins

Also Every retail M5/M6 I have seen seem like they are super closed. IDK what he is talking about with the face wanting to be open at address.

Crossfield should just stop already. I haven't seen a review from him in a long time and he never compares apples to apples. TXG is really the king of online reviews, no one is even close.

Personally I’ve been watching Crossfield since the beginning of time it almost seems. I’ll agree that things have definitely changed since the whole TM thing but his channel is still filled with great content, I just don’t pay any to his stubborn mentality when it comes to shafts and deviation in equipment. In other words: Don’t post a video and title it "best irons of 2019" just to go on a 19 minute rant on how there’s no difference whatsoever between brands and models, I agree it’s getting old. Honestly in my opinion he needs to stick to his word and collaborate with TXG at least once to reinvigorate his channel.

EXACTLY!!

I'm not going to take the chance of hurting my account to "leak" out info early. I just met with my rep last week, I saw some photos, but there were no physical samples. Also, I will not discuss anything I know about the new stuff from TM until told I can officially do so. What I do know.... is it is very good!! I will say that I did ask if there was an 8* option for loft in the driver, since I am a high ball hitter and the M5 at 9* hit it high for me. (Yes, I know I can move the hosel around and reduce the loft.) My rep said that there was, which is awesome to know!! Also, price points were going to be staying the same from what I've been told, but obviously things could change before release. (However, if they come up with almost a $600 retail driver, I don't know how many they will sell, unless the technology is leaps and bounds beyond what is currently there.) I did not hear much about a new blade offering as of this time, other than the P7TWs, and they will still be high $$$.

I would love a set of the P7TWs I just do not think they are worth the price tag.

Unknown until prototypes are out and data comes back. As I said, all I saw were some photos. I honestly have a hard time believing that many of today's drivers (from all the companies) can get much better. I have Titleist Drivers, Callaway Drivers, Taylormade drivers, and I have roughly the same shaft in all of them. In the end, there is hardly 10 yds difference between all of them, if you care considering a head to head match up on the golf course. There is A LOT of marketing in these things now days. Callaway says the AI computer created the most amazing driver out there. It was good, but... .....

Titleist does things in 2 year cycles, (which I think is best), and their product is also very, very good. TaylorMade makes subtle tweaks to their heads, unless they come up with something radical. (I don't believe they have done that again yet., but it sure looks like they cleaned some stuff up in the new line up.) IF a singular golf club was leaps and bounds beyond everyone else out there, you would see EVERY player on TOUR using it. Since that is not the case, different drivers/clubs fit different people, differently. That is part of the fun! I have not found one club to fit all leaps and bounds beyond the other ones for everybody. One person fits best into Titleist, another Callaway, and another TaylorMade. it is why all of those clubs are made.

When it ain't broke, don't fix it, unless something can be found that is truly that much better, performance wise.

I don't believe so, either! They look sweet!! The minimal offset, etc.... I can't believe that because they are milled and have a tungsten plug in them means they are worth more than a $1000 or $1200 max for retail price. They are just taking advantage of a "limited edition: type of club because TIGER uses it. Most people have no business using a set of clubs like that and have them perform for them! (I mean seriously.... I used to be a +4 handicap when I played my best, over 10 to 15 years ago, and I would argue that I could get more/better performance out of something else, like the P760's or the P790's. The feel of the TW irons is wonderful, I hear, however I don't think they are any much better than a set of MP20's. If I were to play a set of P7TW irons, I don't really want the "collectors box". I I get a set of them I'd want to hit them, not just sit and stare at them wishing I could, but if I did, I would devalue them immediately!!

Saw and hit the new line today. I thought the irons felt/sounded tons better than the M6 model. I didn’t hear the loud clocks sound at all.

SIM driver felt very solid. Might give the G410 a run come January.
