Any new TM drivers in the works?

The blades are fine, but blades aren’t keeping anyone afloat. They’re also roughly on par with the offerings from any number of brands. The 790’s are “nice.” Knock your socks off? No. The 760’s are pure garbage. The drivers haven’t had any real innovation in years. I’m not privy to the numbers, but I’d bet TM’s numbers are way down. They just don’t have anything great out there right now. Perhaps this year will change that.

P750’s are about as pure as a forging comes

P760’s are phenomenal from top to bottom, even the chrome finish holds up better than most irons out on the market right now.

P790’s are becoming one of the best selling irons of all time

Quality control was an issue with their game improvement lines but they’ve addressed that issue

Their woods are top of the line year after year, they don’t need to change much and they still sell and no I don’t game them but I’ll still admit it.

Milled Grind 2 wedges made my SM7’s perform like chew toys

Spider putters took the PGA tour by storm as well as being one of the most popular putters used by amateurs and weekend golfers

TP5’s are right up there with ProV1’s in every category

I’d say TM is doing just fine imo

Personal opinion is great and we all like what we like, but I think when you look at things objectively it's hard to back up your claims. I would argue that their lineup has never been stronger from top to bottom. They have product at, or near the top in pretty much every category. And they're killing it in categories where they traditionally have not done very well (i.e., putters, wedges, balls).

Has it translated to sales? I have no idea. None of us have access to their financials, but if they were struggling post-sale I think Abeles would have been replaced as CEO by now.

Thanks @mrmikeac , you're spot on...we're doing just fine. Strong market share growth in 2019 across the board, 790s continue to be our #1 seller, TP5 and 5X on fire, can't keep MG2s in stock, athletes winning with M5/M6 all over, etc, etc...and let's not forget that Tiger collecting another green jacket with M5 metalwoods, P7TWs and MG wedges.
More innovations coming in 2020, including a couple of surprises up our sleeve. 30 or so more sleeps.

Best way I can think of for @TaylorMade Golf to get their post count up is to post multiple high definition pictures of each of the new products due for release in early 2020.

Have not been a TM guy per say but you cannot argue their success and popularity. They would not be popular if they didnt work regardless of how many tour players have them in bags.

Taylormade has been putting out exceptional products, in my opinion. The Spider putter line is all over the top 20 in the OWGRs and their drivers are played right and left by NON CONTRACT PLAYERS - Koepka, Fleetwood, etc. They are one of the very few OEMS that actually LISTENS to what we golf geek nerds WANT TO BUY. My hat is off to them, currently.

Tiger's irons? - CHECK. NEVER anything close had ever been released for us. They're gorgeous.

Raw wedges available to tour guys - CHECK (both through Vault and now general release). And, they aren't $380 through Wedgeworks.

Leaving good products alone and making subtle tweaks - CHECK (see 790s)

Balls that their tour players ACTUALLY USE? - CHECK. Pretty sure both Rory, Rahm, Day and DJ play an off the rack TP5 (X and not).

Good putters? - CHECK. See Spider...the thing is EVERYWHERE on tour going on 5 years and they have done a great job of allowing players to tweak sightlines, etc with the "MYSpider" programs.

Access to the "behind the scenes stuff"? CHECK. I can't think of a single better Instagram that Chris Trott. The guy has peeled back the curtain in terms of "what is used on tour" more than ANY handle I've EVER seen. He's awesome, replies to personal messages and questions and represents TM phenomenally. My single favorite account on Instagram.

I have clubs by TM, Titleist, Artisan, Callaway and Byron Morgan in my bag and play what works best for me. And, I do not work in the golf industry. This is just one golf gear geek's opinion but I don't think you can do anything but applaud the products and APPROACH to the market that Taylormade has show in the past several years.

As I said, my hat is off to them. Good job!

I like their clubs some as well, not the biggest fan of the way their GolfWRX account goes after some people on here with snide responses. You'd think as someone running a major corporations social media account for this forum, you'd just let some things go and answer questions/provide insights when necessary. The stuff that comes off as snarky doesn't seem necessary in my opinion.

I think only thing people should complain about TM would be their release cycle in the past. Seems like irons are finally on a 2 year cycle which is the norm. No doubting they make great stuff.

I can't speak to specific examples as I haven't read this entire thread. I think their presence in here has been awesome, personally. Fujikura is in here (friends of mine) as is True Temper.. I have not read anything that I think was out of line, at all. In TM's "defense," they should defend themselves against questioning the integrity or quality of their products. Calling a product "garbage" or a price point a "joke" isn't exactly productive feedback for them either. Behind every driver are hundreds of engineers, marketing people, customer services people, salesreps, SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGERS, etc that have put long, heard days into developing products and growing their business (which I am sure they believe in and are proud of). I don't know many people that wouldn't provide some defense of something they are proud of that they have put their sweat and tears into.

Again, I have no dog in this fight; just some food for thought.

I, for one, love that they are in here I find that their responses are hilarious and fun (ie., how many more sleeps) and it's a ton more presence than 99% of the OEMS.

I agree 100%. TM's presence on the forum should be commended. And whoever is running their account seems more than reasonable and far less of a dick than a lot of the other people perusing these forums.

Corporate representatives should be held to a different standard than Jimmy Joe perusing the forums. "Far less of" in my opinion should be "never a" when interacting with potential customers.

So i went back and looked and couldn't find the specific instance I was thinking of from November. It was either deleted or I miss-remembered and have held onto it. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that I miss-remembered and am incorrect. I still stand by my points that if you are engaging customers on a forum, you have to walk a very tight line w/ what you say in interactions, even if the Jimmy Joe's are being idiots.

I remember it vividly enough to question whether to consider TM this year or not for my 2020 driver. I like their putters a lot and was a huge M2 fan and had it in the bag for my 3W for a while. Regardless there is nothing there now and I'm all for benefits of the doubt, so I'll be hitting it in January before making my final decision.

I spoke to a few people who have hit it and they all said TM made quality improvements over the M5. They also really liked the design and paint scheme. Like I said before, TM makes a great driver so it sounds like you can expect the same with the 2020 release.
