Seeing then MMT 105TX is a stock option in the Apex Pro. Any high swing  speed guys have experience with it? I see it looks like that’s what Ancer plays, figured he’d be in the 125.

coming from typical PX 6.5, DG X100 etc..

I am wondering if it is the same as the after market MMT TX. Similar to driver shafts how they release modified versions of an after market shaft like Ventus no velo. Idk but I find it hard to believe only because I believe those shafts go for over $500 after market

I emailed Mitsubishi and they said it is the same shaft as aftermarket as there is no made for version of the MMT.

I am a skeptic. I owned the CF14’s years ago and they were without a doubt the worst iron set I have ever owned. Fliers that went 20 yards longer than intended, low spin monsters.  Just my experience.

Will probably give them a go, but will several others as well.

If 2020 taught us anything, a lot can change in a year... let alone 6 or 7 years my friend.

Their test of the standard Apex and Apex Pro is up! Interesting thoughts and impressions of them

Super impressed w/ the pro from that video, literally my ideal iron set. Blade like in the short irons, good launch and spin from mid irons and then nice high jumpy long irons.

The Pro seems to be pretty well received. As in the wedge acts like a wedge, 7 iron has some punch but not overbearing, and the 4 iron give you the launch, spin, and pop all in one. Super excited to test for myself.

Loved Ian's comments from TXG around the Pro - something to the point that if you looked at P770 and thought it was a hair too large, the Apex Pro is your club.  Will be testing these as soon as I can.

I’m eager to see the Apex Pro in hand. Reading the comment about being a smaller package than P770 has me excited! But then I wonder, being a Mizuno fan, what the next generation of MP HMB’s will look like.

Yeah he said the Apex Pro's fall in between the T100 and P770.

What’s your swing path tendencies,  I’ve never had anything similar to that with mine, but I’m a shallow divot player (1ish handicap).  More variability based on AOA perhaps?

Could be. I tend to get a little steep at times.  Funny part is I had them fit at CC and thought I had the cat by the tail.  After 2 months of play, lessons, practice, I finally gave up on them.  They just weren’t doing it for me.  Besides the jumpers, I had serious distance control issues as well.  I am kinda from the school of thought that sometimes the equipment just doesn’t fit the golfer.  At that time I was about a 4 cap. Went back to my trusty Mizzy’s and called it a day.

I am sure they fit other golfers swings as a lot of people liked them.  Just not for me.

When ever I have hit the previous models of the Apex Pro's they have always been fantastic performers, the 16's were a set I regret not purchasing, whilst the 19's performed great but i wasn't a fan of the clickiness and cup face. I will certainly give these a go, maybe the new version will finally win me over!

I just hit the Apex, Apex Pro and Apex DCB and am very impressed! I just tried the 7 iron of each but wish I could've tested the 4 iron in all of them. I tested the stock Elevate steel shaft and the MMT 95S option as well. Both were very nice and performed similar - MMT was a bit softer and maybe went a bit higher.

I'll get a full fitting and compare against other models including P770, but I'm currently leaning towards Apex Pro in PW-7 then Apex in 6-4. I was over drawing the DCB a bit too much, although it was nice and easy to hit.

With Callaway’s iron measuring technique a player that needs over length and upright struggles with swing weight. I’m assuming the Apex Pro will only come in one head weight. I don’t think they offer lighter heads for over length builds like mizzy or srixon.

Does anyone know this for sure?

Yes, they do offer different weighted heads, I always order +1/2-3/4 and my swing weight is usually what I ask for.

Aren’t the profiles pretty different? Feel like that would weigh heavily into the decision, at least for me. Curious which fit your eye the best?

I like the Elevate Tour, which I find don’t launch high, maybe a little higher by DG standards but not compared to Modus. I’ve played the regs hard-stepped in long irons too and gone to the stiffs in the rest. Modus 105x is quite low torque and feels that way to me. If you like it you might even like Project X Rifles. The AMT White is also a good suggestion.
