Anyone ever buy a new set of irons without seeing them in person?

Yep, my current gamers my Cleveland 588 mts, I was very surprised with how big they are and that they are not cavity back, but it was just initial shock. I really like them overall and I think they will be in my bag for a while. Now to stop thinking about drivers lol.

Never irons, every other club yes. 

 

Almost did it with irons this year but in the end went with ones i'd seen before

same ordered a set of Cobra rad speed irons based on some  great online reviews  of distance gains which I could use with my old man swing . Most of buddies are using stronger  lofted irons now leaving me a a iron or more it to greens from the same distance . Ordered a set 3 weeks ago but they are back ordered . Hoping they show in time for our opening in a couple of weeks .

Hey Cave, if it is any consolation for buying without testing, I took a few of the XP-1 irons out with me this weekend for some holes, and they are really good irons.  Very forgiving, good turf interaction, nice pairing with the NS Pro 950 shafts.  Really a steal at under $500.

Many sets. In almost all cases the irons look better in-hand. Here’s my most recent acquisition. Really looking forward to carrying a Geom short set this summer. 
 

Selection is always easier when you know your specs, likes and dislikes.

Got a set of New Level 902s being built right now.  I would suspect more "boutique" brands that aren't that readily available as demos in big box stores, yet have positive user reviews are bought this way.

I have never bought a set of irons without seeing them in person. My last three sets of irons I bought I did buy them without hitting them though. So much for being fitted.

 

I just bought the Tour Edge exotics C721 fairways on the day they went on sale sight unseen except for the pics on the Tour Edge sight. If it was any other brand I wouldn't have done it without looking at them in person but I have been playing TEE fairways since 2011 and I have never had a TEE model that I didn't like. After two rounds with these I am going as far to say they are my favorites to date.

yesterday... Saw a set of Tourstage MR-23 blades on sale at a local shop. Drove across town only to find out the shop was closed. Saw someone standing inside, so I told them to I'd buy them rather than return later and find out they are gone. Ridiculous price on them and in great shape...

Thank you. I've been looking for a set for while. I play the CBs and these are supposed to have the same specs. A little smaller and a little less camber, upon first glance. Can't wait to hit them.

I'm still about 2 weeks from getting to see my irons in person. I paid for them when all I saw was a rendering and didn't even see the first pics until last week. Now it's just a question if finish. Not sure if they are polishing, plating, or leaving them looking rainbow like the pics.
