Snell Black and BridgeStone RX

I am testing the Z-Stars so this might change

I find the RX (yellow) a little hard off the putter and that is the only difference between the Snell and the RX.

Besides the price difference

I found a tour ball that checked all the boxes for me recently.  Chrome Soft X LS.  The OG Chrome Soft X was a very good ball, but the LS is spot on.  Flatter ball flight and seems to spin a hair less which is what I need.  Second ball would be the MTB-X.  Checks most of the boxes.  Only gripe is that it can get spinny on windy days.

what do you notice as difference between two in your view?

ProV1x has a higher trajectory, more spin, handles high outside temps, and feels good as I compress it on impact on my soft 620 series.

AVX is more of a line-drive ball that works nicely around the greens, plus it's easy to over-compress losing some distance in high 100'+ heat, but works nicely in cooler temps.  It feels softer to me than new ProV1.

I like the most recently improved AVX ball though, and use it in cooler conditions.  Both ProV1x, and ProV spin more, so either of those balls are less likely to get me in trouble.

Last weekend on #16, I came up short of the long Par 3 on the apron of a long angled green.  Pin was in the back on an elevated section.  I hooded a PW, ball hit, bounced once, slide a few feet and stopped 3' past pin.  Then on #18 I had 125 in, in between PW and 9i, chose 9i.  The pin was in the middle, green has pond on 3 sides.  I hit the ball a bit thin - flew in somewhat low-mid, hit, skipped twice, checked, and rolled a bit then stopped in back middle section of the green.  If I had done that with AVX, I suspect neither shot would have ended with a Par.

great info. I played the AVX a few years ago and it certainly seemed like a line drive ball. so its been improved?

I was playing the AVX off/on last year.  I did like the fact that it was very low launch spin.  You're right about the line drives.  Great wind ball.  I don't think I ever used it in extreme summer temps here in SoCal.  As you probably know, it can easily get over 100 especially June, July, August and sometimes into fall.  How significant was distance loss?
