I saw what’s wrong with Jordan Spieth swing

As Jordan was walking down 18 on the last day, he told someone that he had nothing. Meaning that he had lost confidence in his swing. Then plopped it in the water. On the one hand, I would love to finish 2nd in a PGA Tour event with no confidence. On the other hand, it is so competitive out there, he seems a little frightened. Hopefully, he doesn't get the "Sandy Lyles" who fell apart after a rain delay at The Honda and never regained confidence in his swing. i am rooting for Jordan and was thrilled when he won earlier this year.

He could have also meant he was gassed. No energy. He did just recover from covid and that has been known to really sap energy from athletes.

I was watching Jordan Spieth practice early this morning. And just before he does his forward press with his hands he does a forward press with his hips it throws his hips out of alignment and he sprays the ball all over the place.  watch his hips move forward before he takes the club back

Dude is the best offline player in the game bar none and yet you have the fix 😁  Dude has only won once and has 5 million in earning this year, I bet he is all ears, message him on Facebook.

Can't believe these North Korean hackers think they know the golf swing after playing too much PGA TOUR 2K21.

The "someone" was Dottie Pepper, and I believe the correct quote, but I'm paraphrasing was "Jordan clearly frustrated just told me it's so hard to play when you've got nothing"   I took that to mean, he just didn't' have his game that day, nothing about confidence.

He seemed clearly frustrated during his warm-up on the range before the round.

To be fair. The shot on 18 was from deep rough and a Hail Mary to try to tie. He blew a wedge over the pin to the water. The landing spot at that pin for that angle was about 3 paces square.  So I applaud him for having the stones to throw it at that pin and at least try.   Was a near impossible shot.

but yes. He has one of those days where you wake up and you’re swing feels like an unfolding lawn chair.  Nothing to fix that but a good nights sleep.  He will be fine.

Someone once told me on here that Spieth is the preeminent long putt maker in tour history.

Why did he need to hit it close?

Could be the alter ego of the guy that thought Kiawah was easy because he played that in a video game?

Yes, it is amazing what people think they could do from video.

I knew these 2 guys that were in their 40’s and they took Blackhawk helicopter video flight school. After a few months they were absolutely convinced they could walk up to a Blackhawk and fly it like a pro.

He made no putts Sunday.  He knew it was all cold. Two of his birdies were form less than 3 feet.  Only club he had working was lob wedge from 70 or so yards.  Lol

It happens to us all. Usually when it happens to me and  it’s a practice day. I just go inside. Because it goes away as easy as it came unless you press and run your Brain off track.  I wish I knew what causes it. It’s just some sort of lapse in sequence or feel in my eyes.

Me too. Unless I missed something he’s been nothing but gracious for all his past success and outwardly humbled by his “slump” taking responsibility for it with no whining.

What qualifies anyone to comment on anyone else’s swing or technique on WRX? I wouldn’t dare..

🤣 I saw the same thing. No way!!!!!!!!! Thank goodness it was not just me. I was about to write Jordan a message saying how he can elevate his game if only he made the necessary changes that we both saw. If anything, I think he needs to switch tailors since he always seems uncomfortable in his UnderArmour clothing. 🤣

Gonna look BUT I noticed something too..... that a buddy of mine does that Fs him up!

He looks back at the club at the very beginning of the backswing..... like a mental tick that can't be stopped.   We try and stop our buddy from doing it and he can't so we just ridicule the crap out of him lol

In fact I noticed it last week and saw it again this week.... I mean to video it and send it to my buddy that does it.... but he'll say if its good enough for Speith lol

Can't figure how to like my own posts
