Consensus Best Miura of all time?

Recommended Posts

I’m not really talking about some super rare or high end custom. But of your basic over the shelf Miura irons. Which would everyone say is the best?  In terms of feel and performance?

ive owned CB57, MC501, MB101 and a couple different wedges.  I’ve since sold them all and moved along as I’m a bit of a club hoe and like trying out new things.  But wanting to buy one Miura set that I’ll just keep and ever sell. Even if it’s not my everyday gamer.   I’ve never owned or even hit, but really have always had a love for the baby blades. That’s what I’m kinda leaning towards

Have owned BB's, CB501's, 57's, 1008's, 201's, and MB101's.

If I just wanted to admire them; BB's

If I wanted to game them; 1008's.

For me, the 1008's are just a great blend of everything and were sneaky forgiving.

I would mention, if the MC501's had less offset, I think they could have been real contenders for the GOAT

There is something special about the forgings in the 1957 series whether its the 001's, CB's, and or wedges. I've tried and played Miura since the RAC irons in the late 90's to the Jack Nicklaus edition blades from today and any of those from this 1957 series are the best they ever made.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

those jack irons are beautiful.

how would you say the 57 and 1008 compare? I had the 57 for a short period of time. Was my first Miura. Wanna give it another shot. But a lot of love here for the 1008 has me second guessing that

I play the 57’s because they are what I described above. I took the 1008 for a test round or two but like the CB57 more. Just my opinion but I think the 57 forging are a little softer. The only other iron I like as much as the CB57 is the Tourstage Z101 CB. It is without a doubt the best feeling iron I’ve ever hit in over 40 years of golf.

I play pp 9003 sn they are a great feeling iron plus forgiving and still relevant when compared to any player distance iron or game improvement on the market today best of both worlds.

I've been playing the original PP-9003 since 2012.  Since I mostly otherwise play Ping, I decided to get G425's with Recoils that came a week ago.

Edit:Not a match  for this golfer on the first round or two, getting used to the wide soles with some crazy mishits.   I'm going to give the G425's some more trial time though, but the Muras aren't going anywhere.

This photo is from the box fresh condition of my raw 1008s. They look even better now with some wear, and they play even better.

GTFOH!  I have the exact same set with exact same ferrule!  😄. If those are MMT 125TX - we may have to go do some karate in the garage.

I also have a set ob 1957 BBs - which I actually prefer the feel of as they're a little firmer and more solid feeling / snappy - but the 1008s have been my gamers for the better part of the last few years.
