Full GI irons, Ping G10 in particular.

I bought the clubs off ebay on a lark and was just giddy with how easy they were to hit the first time out.

The first solid golf ball, like the original ProV1x ball.

Discovering different grinds for wedges, a complete game changer.

Launch monitors to dial things in. Use to be trial and error until something looked right in the air.

Taylor made burner driver (original) - massive step up from persimmon/laminated woods, especially with graphite or boron shafts.

A good range finder and GPS, so I know how far to carry hazards, how long to go long, etc. Plus how far the flag is.

Hybrids - amazing playability

All of my custom building equipment, which allowed me to dial in the right equipment and learn what works for me through experimentation.

Solid balls that went far and spun, way better than balata, although I do miss the feel of a wound balata ball.

I think the biggest game changer for me was understanding a little bit about different shaft specs. I went to a few demo days and hit balls and diff Drivers long enough to make a list of what shafts seemed to work for me.

I got home and looked up those shaft specs and found that the best 2 drivers has a torque ratings of 3.9 ( aldila NV green) and 4.1 (mitsibushi Javelin fx).

Also I found that Mid or Mid/high launch seemed to give me the best trajectory, feel and results. I use 8.5 driver head btw.

Once I realized that anything with torque lower than 3.5 was creating bad swings for me, I have been bombing drives. The exact Same swing with diff torq made a huge difference in my impact and ball strikes.

Finally, the next major game changer came when I applied the same test to irons. I tried a bunch of different iron shafts at the demo day and friends clubs and found that the shafts I had been using for a while ( True Temper DG S300) were dead wrong for me. The True Temper DGs300 I believe has 1.9 torque High Bend Point/ Firm Tip/ and Low Launch . I started thinking about being a kid and teenager and how I used to love my irons and hit them so well. I realized that I used Mid kick shafts which were Ping ZZ lite. These things felt like butter

I did a little research and found some True Temper TT lite XL shaft and the profile was 2.5 torque Mid Bend point/Mid Tip/Mid Launch. These specs are much different than the TT DGs300. Well, I can say this after installing these in my Rac LT 2004's, I went to the range and I was hitting my irons better than ever. My same swing all of a sudden was producing shots I knew I was capable of. I have had the same set of irons and driver since making the switch and the diffence was like night and day all due to a shaft change.

I had made a bunch of little swing changes, but none of them made a difference. Once I changed shafts, everything changed.

Finally with that being said, I am playing 2003 irons and 2009 drivver, so I am super curious with all the trackman and data that is available for fitting etc.

I am going to try and get someone to help me try out a bunch of new iron and driver shafts to see what specs are the best. I have noticed Torque is a lot higher in shafts now it seems.

If anyone out there feels like they are making good swings and not hitting the ball well, I would say look into Torque ratings and bend profiles.

Srry to ramble ! Cheers

Revolutionized is a very strong word, but equipment that id say had a strong impact or at least made me say wow-

ping g2 driver. First 460 cc driver for me

Original scotty cameron futura putter- first mallet high moi putter for me.

titleist prov1- this one is obvious.

this one is a bit strange- rife two bar mallet putter. Those grooves really seemed to work well and really made me feel like i could make anything.

Well sorry to take it off topic a bit but the revolution for me was just playing more. Went from once a week, no practice, to twenty years ago winning a one year membership in a scramble and playing 4/5 times a week. And on it continues.

And almost forgot getting bigger grips. I don't have big hands, but do have long fingers. Regular grip feels like a pencil to me. Made a big deal in my game besides above.

Tip-stiff shafts. I’ve always been pretty big, strong, and coordinated (3-sport high school athlete), and my shots with driver would always take off like a helicopter and come to a soft landing 240yds later. I bought an Axivcore green 75x in college, pulled the stock shaft from my Cobra F Speed LD, put the axiv in, and started hitting 280-300 with no other changes. That instantly made golf more fun for me.

Also, not equipment- but I’ve take one lesson ever- the guy switched my grip from baseball to interlock and flattened my swing a bit, and all of a sudden, I could hit iron shots. So that’s the single biggest technique improvement for me.

SLDR 12* mini driver.

Has been a revelation for me, and is probably the most "game changing" club Ive ever had or played. Off the tee I hit it far enough that Im playing most holes normally and not at a disadvantage from not hitting driver, and on par 5s it brings many into general reach in or about 2. Its been an awesome club for me and when it blows up, Ill get another.

Yes it is a strong word. Using it as a hyperbole . Nothing but lessons were revolutionary . But the ones I posted were like something clicked in the feel of the club.

Cobra Baffler Pro 18* hybrid. Stayed in my bag for 10 years. 240+ off the tee with a baby draw. Learned low punches to get out from under trees. 3/4 draws and fades (or hooks/slices) to get around doglegs and when I was in the rough. Fairway bunkers. Low, running chips. I used that club everywhere. Still have it (I'll never sell it).

Rangefinder - using a Bushnell Tour V3 that I bought 4 or 5 years ago. Knowing exact distances to the pin (or the trouble spot) was a game changer.

Laser rangefinder. I remember the days of walking around looking for sprinkler heads when I first started playing and I can't imagine doing that now. Gotta save 2 minutes on every approach shot.

Hybrids: Even for good players these clubs are game changers. The versatility going into greens and off the tee makes a 3H a must have in the bag.

Revolutionize is a strong word, but heavy counterbalanced putters made me a lot more confident on the greens, and mostly the last 5-6 putters i have used have all been like that or similar

Several for me. Range finders have to be pretty close. To be able to know exactly what club to pull has been awesome. I just got a set of Arccos caddie smart sensors and I am really pumped to get out and use them as well. The data is insane what they track and it should really highlight areas in my bag where I need to change. I don't really follow these principles but having a single fairway wood around 16-17* was a no brainer for me a while ago. So easy to hit like a 5 wood but the distance to boot. A hybrid down to the 25/26* mark should be mandatory for all amateurs. It literally is cheating they are so easy to hit. I'm contemplating going full "hack" this season and going hybrid to the 30* club and just owning it with ease to the 180 mark. Belly putters were also great for me, but sadly banned. I've never putted so well in my life and it will be tough to get back to that. Armlock + high MOI just doesn't seem to do the same for me, I've tried.

From a 70 year old perspective, most revolutionary are Ventus shafts in woods and Steelfiber i110 & i125 "S" shafts in irons.

Why? Ventus 5 Red "S" has me getting the ball out there 240+ carry. Ventus 7 Red "S" has me hitting my 4wd as far as 3wd. Steelfiber shafts in 620 irons are helping me to maintain club distances allowing me to play what ever yardages and still score in the low-mid 70's. My goal is to shoot my age. I am sure both balls are factors and my Garmin Fenix 5X has a hand in it as well.

That's as revolutionized as technology gets in my game.
