Disappointing. I like a set matching gap wedge. I’ve been playing ZX5 irons 5-PW and was thinking of getting GW. I will say the irons are hands down the best I’ve ever played. These are Srixons best to date. I’ve played just about everything out there and these are firmly in the bag for a long time. Just awesome.

Sorry!! I do have to clarify a bit. I was think the x7s. I saw the matching gap wedge for that set. I do not know if the x5 is the same gap wedge or if there is a different one. Sorry.

5 series, 7 series or z-forged series gap wedge? Which one are you referring to?

If they stay true to what they have done in the past, the ZX7 will be blade type GW and the ZX5 will match the set. I too was hoping for a ZX7 GW to match the set as I also use it as a full swing club. Doesn’t sound like that’s the case.

As much as I would like a matching AW, the 785 looks sweet. I'm sure the ZX7 will as well.

Got my split set of ZX5 5-7 and ZX7 8-PW this week and have been to the range once and played with them once. I'm coming from Bridgestone J15DF with a brief spell in JPX 900 forged. First of all, the looks are fantastic. The blade length is slightly longer but the grooves extend a bit to make the actual toe area smaller and it frames the ball wonderfully. Blade length is typically the only thing can turn me off an iron and both models sit really well. The feel is good. ZX5s certainly weren't clicky to me, probably exactly what you would expect. The 7s were softer, just immaculate (playing TP5). 

 

Only a small sample but the forgiveness of both models (for what they are) while still giving you feedback is the best thing about them. Really really impressed by that and can't think or similar clubs that offer that. Very happy with these

I heard early on that all steel shaft options are no upcharge but haven't heard anything since, would love to know what was available! Namely KBS $ Taper and PX LS haha!

Not sure of the shaft offerings, I ordered them with Tour Issue DG S400's, but not sure of its an upcharge (I am getting PUD discount). I did see someone post that earlier in this thread and I think it is likely accurate as it was for the z785 and 585 series.

As a lefty, what are our options for a 3 and 4 iron for ZX7? Zx5 doesn’t have a 4 iron either and I think the jump between a ZX7 5i is quite big to a ZX UT 4i.

Especially with these new stronger lofted clubs these days. Having a 44 degree PW you almost need a 48-50 degree matching AW or you gotta look for a blade type wedge at that loft which most players playing game Improvement irons don't want to do

This is why I opted for the CBX wedges, the first at 50 degrees to go along with my z565's.  I have yet to play my irons or wedges on course...yes I have a brand new set of 565's and CBX wedges that have not touched a ball yet.

I got CBX2 wedges a few weeks ago to test. Im a good wedge player but wanted to try them anyways. I have the 56/60 and both are fantastic. Extremely forgiving through the turf and on toe strikes. I'll probably order a 48 and 52 next year to match.  Very impressed with them. My 2nd shot with the 56 I holed out from 108 yards

At my local shop tonight and they have spaces cleared on the rack for ZX4, ZX5, and ZX7. $1,300 for 8 clubs. The guy in the pro shop they won’t have them in stock until January.

Just taken delivery of my combo set of zx5/7 this afternoon and they look fantastic.

 

The only problem is the 50mph plus winds we have today and its looking like 40mph plus, togther with rain the next couple of days in NW of England followed by the fact we appear to be heading into another lockdown so who knows when I get to hit them....

Interesting. What is the ZX4?  Is that maybe the new blade?  I've only seen info on the ZX5 and ZX7 so far.

More expensive than I would have thought. Glad that I got a set of 585/785 combo all the way through gap wedge, with my preferred shaft. Too good of a deal for less than half the price. 
 

Ps: zx4 is supposedly a Game improvement iron.

Can anyone confirm the material in the cavity of the zx5. Is it a badge held on by adhesive or is it all one piece like the zx7?

It's a separate badge, but not sure how it's held in. I assume some double sided tape.
