You must have gotten lucky. I have heard that all steel options will be no upcharge with the new ZX7. If that is the case, I will also be getting them with $ Taper.

I hope that’s correct. I might go back to Srixon irons if the Nippon 125 is no up charge rather than being considered exotic

@QuigleyDU Thanks for your thoughts on the clubs. I was really surprised that Michael Newton in his review was pretty down on feel/sound of the ZX5. What are your thoughts on this?

I mean, the 585 feel different than the 785 - not quite as soft. but MN seemed to imply that the difference got bigger. Thank you!

I didn't notice too much of what he was feeling. I thought they had a good feel, they may be a touch on the firm side.  They are softer than say the TM P770's.

Isn't Srixon owned by Cleveland? Maybe that factors into when they roll out products in the US (with staggered releases for Cleveland and Srixon-branded products).

Z785 & Z585 are no longer available online. Definitely losing customers if they're waiting until next year. I've had my eyes set on trying them but I've already ended up with some JPX 921s.

thanks. I’m glad to hear that. I really liked the feel of the 585s, then tinkered with other brands for most of the year. Will hold off until the ZX is released in the US, but looks like a combo set for me. Nothing about the other fall releases made me pull the trigger yet.

The 585s feel quite a bit different than the 785s. I imagine its a similar difference between the zx5 and zx7.

Now that the Z585/785 lines are “Sold Out”, you would think that they would push the release date up for the US. Not sure what they are doing here.

It is almost like a global pandemic has resulted in millions of people to take up golf, and cause shortages of equipment worldwide.  If you were an OEM CEO, would you risk an early launch with shortages of equipment to further hurt your brand?  Or wait for the supply chain to normalize before launching in the largest market?  I trust Ping and Srixon's decisions will work out for them.

I got my ZX5 5-PW last week and they are really really good.  Distance and forgiveness are superb.  Feel isn't the softest in the world but still quite good.  The ZX series are the best Srixon irons to date.  Just all around solid in every category and no fliers!  I played P790 and couldn't put up with the jumpers anymore.  Consistency is awesome and frankly the offset, blade length etc is really pleasing.  I'm a 4 handicap and suits my eye beautifully.

Would have liked to see less offset and a smaller head profile on the ZX7, those 2 things are really my only gripes with Srixon irons. Feel is phenomenal on mine though so I'm sure these will feel amazing too.

I paid a premium but wanted them asap, not sure what the US MSRP will be but I probably up paid 10% I'd guess.  Shipped from overseas to US.

So does that mean $999 + 10%? 585s retailed for $999 for 7 piece set.

About right

That's good news. I was expecting them to increase in price like every other company has done. $1500+ for a set of irons is starting to get ridiculous.

How is the comparison to 565's?  Any noticeable difference in feel and forgiveness?

Curious as some say 565 series is more forgiving than 585.
