It's why I like newton and big al. Pretty sure they don't remove swings. They just run with it.

I am sure they do. They all probably do. Big Al absolutely cracks me up..

So the main focus was low center of gravity for Cobra, sacrificing a little MOI to do it.  They moved around a little bit of weight and say you should see a 150-300 rpm spin drop (depending on the model) from the speedzone.

I have the speedzone and must say I'm at the point where I don't need any lower amount of spin.  It's crazy to say that but I'm thinking many people will start finding themselves reaching for mid trajectory shafts or higher lofted heads than they were previously using with where technology has gotten.

Big al is my favorite for entertainment. Txg is my favorite because ian is a boss when it comes to fittings.

Big al - "rad stands for radius of gyration. Sounds like a sh!++y heavy metal band." LOL

I'm not familiar with the ins and out of the order books... but can you not get the F1 X in Left Handed? I'm just confused as to why there are specifications for handedness on the shaft selections.

Nothing wrong with that though as most golfers would benefit from a higher lofted driver in terms of forgiveness

Does anyone know if the stock Motore X F3 shaft offered in the new RAD driver is the same shaft you can buy (for $275) directly from Fujikura?

Or will this be Cobra's version of what TM did with the SIM, the Ventus (without velocore) was a stock offering, but the 'real deal velocore' was an upcharge.

Thanks,  Rod

I would think that based on the past couple years offerings, these are the real deal shafts.  Last year was the Atmos Tour Spec Blue and Black (not the water downed made for) Atmos (no tour spec) Black, Blue, and Red.

Also looks as if the Haz Smoke Blue RDX is the non ION Finish one, but legit as well.

It was cool to see how Matt on TXG said this was right there with the TSI3. And Ian also said that if the other top 4 brands had a driver that performed like this they would shout from the roof tops about it.

Another note people want to talk about a deep face driver. The RAD will be about the deepest from what we have heard.

I haven't watched the video yet, but txg pulls shots out of their testing if the strike is off center by a certain number of mm. Unless his testing was consecutive shots, with none removed, then dispersion should always be tight. I hate how they remove shots so we can't see what happens on a bad strike. Drivers improvements are now about forgiveness and consistent ballspeed on off center strikes. Removing those strikes removes video review of how good the driver is.

I also find it a bit funny they trashed the speedzone a bit once the new model was out. Thats stuff we need to know not after the fact...🤷‍♂️

Not all that impressed with some of the reviews ive seen so far. The big pros to me are the nice shaft options and price.

Man I must have missed those. Seem most are very positive that I've seen? Fast and now forgiving, which the SZ line lacked to me?

Nothing is safe in my bag!

Seriously...

me...”hmm looks exactly like a speedzone but with different paint... but ok lets watch some reviews and see whats different”

txg-“speedzone was behind other drivers, namely dropping ball speed on mishits, especially high in the face”

Me-“oh interesting, they look the the same lets see if the RAD has better ball speeds on mishits”

Cue the ball falling 30 yards short on a mishit...

IM not saying its trash. Its a decent driver and a good deal for the money. But is it any better than a gently  used SIM, Mavrik, in about 2 months? Id say no way. Id also probably prefer the Mizuno at the same price points with similar shaft options. But I will happily eat crow if im wrong. I was wrong about the SIM when it came out.

Agreed. I will definitely be sticking with my SZ set up for 2021. I do like the shaft offerings...atmos tour spec to motor F1 and F3 is awesome and then the Smoke RDX Blue provides three profiles for really anybody.

We definitely watched a different video. There we no shots falling 30y short - look at that dispersion circle and those std dev numbers.

7:03 in the first video in their “bomber” setup.... and As mentioned before they do edit out significant mishits... so that dispersion isnt real..shocker that the new one out preformed...have yet to see one where it didnt. I guess we wont know their true feelings on the RAD until next year when the new driver comes out 😆

I'd like to point out that he missed on the face by over half an inch compared to the previous shot and only lost 20 yards carry... thats pretty amazing.

Is it worth ditching a 2020 driver for a 2021 driver? No, but i'd argue that no 2021 driver is worth ditching a 2020 driver for unless the 2020 was just poorly fit

I like how the face cup goes over the topline. It makes me feel like I can tee it high and if I sky it, it won't leave a mark on the paint.

F9, Speedback, Rad Speed to me are leaders in the pure design aspect of design, stability, weight distribution, and materials. Also how they get the real deal high end shafts as stock offerings at their price points is amazing. Reminds me of the ole MIzuno JPX900 Evo 2 Speeder days...

I think if you have been fit for any of the three heads with the proper shaft, gains will be negligible at best, and user should go with look, sound and feel and call it even.

When they drop shots from the data, they have a screen at the start of the video stating that. The comparison video did not have that screen.
