2021 grips, what are you gaming?

Good day golf fellow golf nerds!

 

Curious to hear what everyone is doing for grips this year.  I've been an mcc +4 player for a while now and contemplating making a change, but not sure.  I'm comfortable playing them, just not crazy about how fast they tend to lose the slight tack.  When new they are amazing.  However, I'm very interested in iomics and possibly lamkin sonar tour.  Really wish they still made the players cord mid.

 

Is anyone else thinking of making a change?  Interested in some good dialogue.  Apologies if already  posted.  TIA!

How close are they to weight and size to mcc +4?

My club happened to have a PURE midsize grip in stock when I needed something regripped... it was an experiment on something, I forget what and don't feel like digging through my basement... That was the only time I can remember NOT playing a Golf Pride grip of some sort... (other than putter grip)... That trend will continue. 

 

Golf Pride on 13 clubs... most have the tour velvet. Some have other things.

Made the jump to the jumbomax XLs last summer, I think I’ll stay with them.

Seems like I definitely need to check out pure midsize.  I’ll probably end up gripping a couple of single clubs with a pure and Lamkin sonar tour and see where it goes.

 

For the pure users, how has the durability been?  I play in Dallas, so summer gets crazy hot which can put a beating on grips.

They are fairly close once you add tape under the left hand to simulate the +4.  I didn't weight them just used the specs on the website plus tape.  Masking tape makes it a lot easier and the fact you can easily pull the grips to adjust is awesome.  I ended up 1 full wrap of tape and 4 more under the left hand. 

 

Feel of the DXT is better (rougher) than the MCC but softer.  Playing in a low humidity environment the MCC were not even lasting me 6 months and I cannot justify the price and Pure Grips are made in the USA.

I’m still using Tour Velvet 360’s, 2 wraps. Still the best Imo.

I know people that have played them multiple seasons and still felt new (this is in Phoenix).  There is another post on here talking about the durability with the general thought is they last multiple times most other grips.  I would buy a couple and try it before going all in, they do feel different than what you are use to.

I bought a few sets of MCC standard & Align, but always went back to standard Tour Velvet "R" with +3.  Last year when I bought 620 series irons, decided to switch 2-GW to standard TV Align +3 and quite pleased with the change.  I still have CP2 Pro on Driver, 4wd and LW, all +3.

Likely going back to tour velvet 360s, or standard tour velvets. Played pure pros last year. Did not care for the performance when wet.

MCC standard for me. Been using them since they first came out and don't plan on switching anytime soon.

Standard Lamkin Crossline grips for the time being on all my irons and woods.  I may eventually go to the UTx grips again.  The UTx and Crossline grips are my go to for grips.  If I go to the UTx, I'll put a Crossline cord on my driver.

I'm getting rid of my MCC +4 and going to a Lamkin Crossline Cord.  I hate the bottom portion of the MCC

I am intrigued by the Crossline 360 Genesis full cord.  I haven't seen them available yet (the non-TaylorMade version) but look like they could be a good option from looking at the Lamkin website.
