For the people who want so badly for them to be paired together in a round, you would be sorely disappointed.  There would be no trash talk, no violence,  no fistacuffs, no nothing.  They would show up on the first tee, acknowledge each other, go their separate ways for the entire round, acknowledge each other walking off the 18th green, and that would be that.   They are still professionals on the course, and it would come across that way.

Didn’t Brooks once say something to the effect of him not really liking golf, that he’d rather be playing baseball?  He comes across that way, like he’s too cool for golf, and he’s above all these nerds out there, just playing to get a paycheck.

Generally speaking, upper-middle class white men are more conservative and "prefer" a certain level of conformity.  We're talking about a sport where the participants are still expected to wear pants for some reason and folks got bent out of shape when a guy was wearing a shirt with a hood.

So why does top talent have to be likable? I like that BK is a heel, sure he's a Tool but so what. He's got the best major record of the last five years over everybody in the world. He can back up his baloney a lot more than that other Tool. Out of respect for Hogan he ought to take off the hat

I don't doubt those stats.  But the desire to "prefer" a certain level of conformity" is not limited to White Male Golfers.  It's more a function of economic class without regard to race.

I just don’t agree with stereotypes. Especially that one.  The best off guys on this site wear shorts and hoodies.  Just checkout the style section.    It’s has zero to do with race.

I'm not so sure.  I could see Bryson play some headgames with Bruce like slowing down on the greens.  Bruce might not say anything, but his body language would be worth a laugh or two.
