Maybe a lady wrote it.

Ladies use exclamation point for every sentence.

Be like,

Me: what’s going on?

Lady: I’m just doing some emails!

Me: Hows 3pm to connect to discuss xyz?

Lady: sounds good! I have a 2:30 but should be done! If not, I’ll call you right back!

Me: ok, call you then

Lady: talk soon!

Every Scandinavian, no matter how rich they get wants to spend the summers in Scandinavia…

I went to Thailand in July 89, decided I will stay out of the tropics for the rest of my life. US Seems peculiar. You seem to have the Sahara summers and the Greenland winters. I will never visit anything in the US in the summer, except maybe San Francisco.  Those heat tables you posted above, thats not for my 98% Scandinavian genes…

We're kind of a giant country... So there's a lot of variety. You can hang out with @Soloman1 in Scottsdale and the summers are like a blast furnace, but the winters are nice. Or you can go to where I grew up (Chicago), and you get cold and nasty all winter and hot and humid all summer.

Or you can come to Southern California, where the worst weather we have each year is called "June Gloom". It's... slightly overcast for like half of each day. Where's the fainting couch?

Yeah, where I live is the best weather in the country. Winter is so moderate that I never even turn on the heat in my house. Summer has a stretch of about 1 1/2 months where I run the air conditioner, but there's no humidity so as soon as the sun goes down it cools off--and because there's no humidity, there are no mosquitos either. 12 months of golf per year.

Yes, it really is the worst of both worlds.  The golf window is too small to really enjoy or see what's going on, and nobody pays attention to the advertisement so those ad dollars are wasted anyway.

To summarize:  It sucks

Agree. But someone making a lot of money did the research/crunched the numbers and determined it “works”. 🙄 It definitely is difficult to focus on the golf during the ‘playing through’. I have found muting the TV during these breaks helps. Also, a really big screen makes it almost watchable.

Yeah, historically I've tended to subscribe to the theory that marketers know what they're doing and if it didn't work they wouldn't do it.  But I've started to have my doubts.

As a child of the 80's I was around for the launch of New Coke.  That should have been my first red flag.

😆 I remember New Coke. Add Crystal Pepsi to the equation and I think you just might be onto something!

The 75% humidity outside right now (at almost 11PM) is the lowest we've had in at least several weeks. And we've been lucky, since most Julys and Augusts we have a weeklong stretch that stays in the low to mid 100's. We have it good compared to Oregon this  year, oddly enough.

crappy weather anyway you look at it ... getting crappier it seems ...

Miami may be nice, but Miami is not the tropics.  Sub-tropics perhaps.

But, hey!  Lots of golf possible down there after the swamp is drained.

My dad lived a long time in Marco Island, just across from Miami. There, during the summer the golf was empty...way too hot for the normal folk.  During the winter the rates shot up way beyond my ability to enjoy.

Plenty of pompous clubs too with absurd dress codes, requirements etc which, of course, kept the 'hoi-polloi' outside the gate.

I would have thought the folks that live there would be rich enough to have air conditioned golf carts : )

Helluva round by Finau. Hot start, all the wheels fell off, then he managed to reattach them without slowing down. He's out there like...

Bunch of guys at my club rented their houses to tour guys this week.  Wish I would have thought of it

You're local too? I didn't know that. Wouldn't ask you to put yourself on blast, but curious where you play if you ever want to trade club rounds haha.

After the first day, I'm liking my picks of Cantlay, Xander, and Ancer. All three guys well positioned but I need one of them to either win or be low man on one day for a payout.

But it is funny to me that someone figured a way to continue the golf coverage so you get more of it but still find a way to complain about it.

Shot link just showed Bryson’s drive carry 315. Azinger gets all excited and says he just carried it 330. Does he not have a monitor?

I mean at this point, even if he did have a monitor, are we sure that he would have been able to read?

Stacked leaderboard with some great scoring. At this stage, Jon Rahm just looks absolutely relentless (delighted he his on Team Europe for next month). Really enjoyed the course.

Suppose most of the days in the year would be too hot for me, I prefer playing at temperatures 15-20C. Would love to come over and play there during the winter though.

Shut up Rory.

You make 50MM a year flying in private jets to play golf.

🤣

Yeah, I get this. Nevertheless, not too many people can handle tour level competition and all that comes with it like it’s a Sunday round with your buds. Lots of folks and their families depending on your individual success on a daily basis, all in front of the press. Just sayin’.
