Watching now. We are up 3-0 and need a win BADLY! Stanton hit the longest HR yesterday that I’ve ever seen at the Coliseum! Very impressive. 👏🏼
Judge, Stanton, Rizzo, Gallo, LeMahieu… No fair! 🤣

I can't believe there's been any talk about "should Sergio be a Capt's pick?"  Are you crazy?  As an American by all means leave him off.  But that kind of talk is just stupid.

The only reason he's in the running is because TW isn't participating. Putting Sergio on a team against TW is like throwing baby seals to the piranhas.

Is that what people (you) are calling Bryson? 😖 I think @MtlJeff starred in an adult film titled ‘Beef Hammer’ when he was in college.

Incorrect. "Beef Hammer" was actually my screen name when I starred in adult films. Was never the name of a film.

You may be confusing it with "meat locker" . Which was an excellent picture

Bryson's putting has come so far since all that experimenting he was doing (side saddle style, etc..).  I don't want to call it underrated but it does get overshadowed by his distance game.  His around the green and bunker game, which is pretty average at best, if he gets that figured out that could be the key that unlocks his potential.

It’s probably the part of his game that most of us could and maybe even should emulate. His approach to putting makes a lot more sense than the one length irons IMO.

Cantlay was really out 4 seasons with his back?  I remember him having those issues but I don't remember it being that long.  I think Zinger just pulling more made up stats out of his @ss.

Per OWGR.com closer to 2.5 years. Played Mayakoba in November 2014. Next PGA Tour start was Pebble in 2017.

Lol, how big are the security dudes following the final group? And why so many?

Wonder if they are there to crack down on “Brookses”

Bryson has blown this tournament now.About time he learnt course management instead of trying to blast it 370 yards off every tee.

Maybe great for the fans, but he will never win many tournaments with this approach.

Tiger in his prime would never have played like that,or Jack.

I agree...I remember both Tiger and Jack saying the toughest shot they could never master was the 43 and a half yard 2nd shot into a par 4. I think Jack and Tiger both said they blew 16 majors each by not laying back to 188 yds where everyone else hit it, where they could rope their 7 iron to 36 ft and drain the putt every single time. I mean, how many times did we see tiger hit wedge into 15 for his third shot at the masters in 96 because he kept hitting it in the trees and had to chip out...wait a minute...nevermind

Nobody in their right mind would argue that historically Sergio is in the same league w/Tiger on a career basis.  But the Ryder Cup is different. and the numbers don't lie.

Sergio's career Ryder Cup record:  22-12-7

Tigrer's career Ryder Cup record:  13-21-3

Admittedly Tiger can be an intimidating pairing for any partner and a good RC capt would do well to keep Sergio away from a Tiger matchup in any case.  But points are points are points.  And Sergio is an excellent "point getter".

Come back to me when Bryson gets even close to the amount of tournaments both Jack and Tiger won, with his approach to the game.🙄

Tiger can't beat Sergio now because he is a terrible driver ......

Anybody else notice that Bryson is back to playing the LTD head in driver?  Maybe that halfway proves his comments about the new driver sucking.  If he swaps back to the old one and goes nuts again.

Poor BAD...first the mud got him, then the wind.

Couldn't possibly be bad shots or poor decisions, could it?

“What’s going on?” Looks at caddy.

”I don’t believe that” looks at caddy, examines driver.
I think he took a good close look at the back hosel portion of the driver on 16. He scrambled, And scored okay on the last 3 holes.
BD is getting good for tv ratings, and yet his swing from tee to green would put most of us in traction.
Golfwrx does need a nickname for for the Wild Bryson.

I was there yesterday. Only the top guys have uniformed security. Correct that there are 4/5 light blue/grey shirts following for (I assume) data.

Looks like the whole field will finish under par.  Is it because:

  1. The course is easy compared to typical tournament; or
  2. Lift/clean/place; or
  3. The 70 guys who would have been over par aren't playing this week; or
  4. All of the above?

I would say lift clean and place, and the fact that the course is very soft.

Also, fairways are fairly wide, and the course could have been set up harder.

It is virtually assured that the highest score will be -1.  -28 might be the winning number.  Caves Valley is a comparably new course, but not many courses are tough enough for today's best when the fairways and greens are soft.

Significantly roll back the driver size as a condition of competition for the Tour, and put more needed skill back in the game.

Cantlay was out for a year or two with his back fracture and then while he was on a beach with his years' long best friend (& caddie) the friend was hit by a car & died almost in Patrick's arms.  That just devastated Patrick for a long time.  He couldn't play golf at the time it took it's toll with serious depression setting in I think.  Maybe it took nearly 4 yrs for Patrick to get back to "himself".

I don’t think they played lift clean and place yesterday.  Bryson didn’t clean that mud ball.

And it’s absolutely understandable, especially if you can afford to take the time.  This game can’t be played with that much current baggage in the head.   It’s a waste of time to attempt it.    Probably time ahead in the long run with that decision
