Broken Ventus TR

Yeah the exact wording was 'i thought steering you to a warranty on a Saturday was thoughtful' 😂. I won't purchase a Fuji shaft  again.

If they would have sent this to me I would screen shot that email & post it all over here & MGS.   It's almost as if they are trying to claim the ones breaking are "Black Market" TR's.

I would love to know the production Dates on the butt stickers for those that are breaking.

My guess, they created a “weak spot” were the spread tow fabric ends.  Not really sure how far down the handle it goes.  Either way its a design flaw that the fine folks at Fuji do not want to take responsibility for.  By far the worst company in golf.  I have never seen a company that doesn’t want to make it right with their customers.  They’ll have to do something the first time one snaps on live TV from a tour player, wont that be something:)

I wonder if they fixed the issue that it would change the profile and would no longer be a TR.

Got a reply from Fujikura yesterday, telling me if I've rolled the dice and got it from an unauthorized source then there is nothing they will do. I told them this was poor customer service, to which their reply was basically that I should be grateful they answered a query on a Saturday 😳. I'm  hopeful that the original source was an authorized dealer and I might be able to get it sorted but its a long shot as it seems it's gone through a few hands to get to me. There is clearly a manufacturing defect here and they should be making it right.

That speaks volumes of their arrogance. Never again.

The butt sticker of mine says 2022-02-20.

I'll admit it, I don't think I will shaft any shaft with my SS. Long gone are the days of Magila Gorila, so warranty wasn't even an after thought when I buy shafts...until now.

So I am curious, does any other OEM ala True Temper, Mitsubishi have a policy of not replacing a shaft if it breaks in certain areas of the shaft?

How long are the warranties on other OEM shafts incomparison?

Even if you buy from an authorized dealer for a Fuji shaft, do they send out paperwork or something to show "hey we don't cover breakage here and here"? I did not see anything like that when I got 2 Fuji's Ventus and ATMOS from JDs at full pop... and it's not until this thread I learn they don't cover snaps in the middle - that doesn't sound fair or worst, dodgy.

Callaway UK/EU used to have exactly the same policy. I don’t know if they still do, but they had guidelines for which parts of the shaft suggested a flaw, and which parts were likely due to user error. Breaking in the middle was supposedly usually a result of an overhead axe-like thump into the ground after a bad shot.

I remember the days when certain Pro Series shafts were a hush-hush option, and they used to have a disclaimer/warning sticker on the tip that these shafts were for skilled golfers and off centre hits would cause breakage! Wasn’t good for the confidence.

Product date on the my friends, 3-5-22.  I almost enjoy seeing people post broken shafts now.  All in the same spot, there’s no denying it fine folks at Fuij make it right.  For me sending me another one that will break in the same spot is not making it right.  I want my money back!!!

They just keep piling up and @Fujikura Golf is just turning a blind eye to it. Almost a month since they PM’d saying they were looking into it after my dealer denied replacement and still no response after a follow up message. Thankfully I’ve found a fit in a Tensei AV raw blue and I can purge Fuji shafts from my bag. It’s going to suck to have to take the red out of 3 wood but this response has been laughable.

Earlier this year I posted a thread about a Ventus Blue 7X cracking at the hosel. Of course was told I was SOL because I bought it from a third party here on WRX

I originally thought it might have been an installation problem from the guy I had do the work but after all this I'm not so sure.

Either way after this thread I think I will be staying away from Fuji products going forward. Dropping $300 on a shaft that might randomly break and having nothing you can do about it doesn't sound like a good deal to me!

I’ve got mine (made 3-5-22) in the closet will not use it again.  I’m waiting for some energetic lawyer on here to get something legal going.  They know there’s an issue and have no interest in making it right.  From what I can tell they’re still selling them.  Unfortunately it will take someone getting hurt to draw some attention to the issue.  It appears  Fuiji at this point isn’t concerned about personal injury, SHAME on them!  They should be pulling them off the shelf until they figure out the issue.

Guys, don't need to resort to these intentions...

Are any of you pushing this thread or posting on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook to Fujikura? The perception may be that this is "WRX" only but posting this on other social media will draw more attention to a serious issue. Jus sayin'

Reading this thread with an ad for the TR on top…🤔. I added some red text for fun.

I should say I’m sorry to hear all you that are having issues. It’s really no laughing matter especially considering the potential injury and I hope Fuji doesn’t continue to be complicit here.

This is insane, that’s like three shafts snapped in the same place in the same weekend from different people.

1,2,3? Maybe a fluke. I’m too lazy to through all the pages but there has to be at least 10+ now from a relatively low % of the golfing population in this thread. The fact that this has not been rectified in any way is shocking. More and more keep popping up. @Fujikura Golf this is looking more and more horrible on your end every day. The good news is word of mouth is the strongest influencer and I will be sure none of the guys I play with at my club look at a Fuji again.

Pretty embarrassing of Fuji to do nothing when tons of new shafts are breaking in the same spot. My money won't be going their way any time soon.

It’s either a unforeseen engineering mistake ala the Spread Tow meeting the 70 ton creates weak spot (which it should not).  They got a really really really bad batch of materials but would every shaft fail at the same spot unlikely but possible.  Or they have a mandrel (the metal rod they wrap the fiber around) that is really really out of spec.  That would mean any TR made on that rod might have a weak spot where it is out of spec & it’s absolutely that 4-5 inch area we see every one of these failures happen at.  Whatever it is, it’s 100% on Fujikura they need to step up to the plate.
