Tour Callaway Paradym driver - 2022 QBE Shootout

Upon second look, its like sim 2, ltdx peacoat and callaway all got together and threw this together. Its not bad by any means, i liked those. One thing that seems off to me is the amount of seams (ha used seems and seams in same sentence)... like a lego driver or something. I bet it performs and sounds great, just a bit out there with name and looks.

So TM has carbon all over and a carbon face.

 

Callaway has forged carbon.

 

Ping engineers found some carbon while digging for fossils and had an epiphany.

 

Titleist discovered steel again. For the 18th first time.

Eh, I can't say I'm the biggest fan of the aesthetics, but I'd hit it and I'm reasonably certain it will perform about the same as everything else out there. Probably a fine and serviceable club.

 

The design is interesting however...

 

You've got some established Callaway nonsense re-emerging with "forged carbon." 

 

If memory serves, Callaway introduced that tech in the Diablo Octane line (of which the Tour version was rather an unsung hero, BTW, and to which our own, much beloved, @MtlJeff, I believe, will attest).

 

According to the marketing, Callaway engaged in a "lengthy process" in conjunction with Lamborghini to - I'm gonna go out on a limb here - enable Callaway to feature a Lamborghini Diablo in their marketing.

 

I mean, Lamborghinis are cool. Put a golf club next to a Lamborghini, and that club instantly becomes cool as well...sooo, yeah.

 

Other than that, about all I can say is Callaway just slapped some crap from TM and Titleist onto an existing driver frame, gave it a fancy paint job, and called it good.

This may just kick the Stealth Plus I have in the bag.  Have to see what the Stealth 2 or whatever looks like.  Will be doing extensive testing once it's released............

I would definitely go for that. One of the details I like about the Rogue ST is the matte finish. A little surprised they went away from it so quickly. 
 

Continental Golf can solve this problem. I once had a Titleist fairway head I bought on the BST that they had converted from gloss to matte. It looked so good.

I guess forged carbon sounds cooler than pressed or laminated carbon. 🙄

 

I don't mind the shape, but ugh... that fake marble laminate counter top paint scheme on the bottom is definitely a new paradigm (or paradym I guess if you're a Callaway marketing exec) of ugly 🤮

On topic, I think it looks cool. Shape is great and the color reminds me of the Nike T40 I had way back when. I'm a little undecided on how I feel with the visual clash between woven crown and unwoven sole, and as one other poster pointed out there's panel fitment issues between the two also, but whatever - it's probably going to be $700 when it comes out and my current stick is plenty good enough.

 

You’re right. No one I know in aerospace calls it forged. It’s press formed chipped fiber with marketing.

It ain't any uglier than the beloved M2.....interested in trying it. Would like to get back to Callaway but the og sim max is tough to beat.

I think it looks pretty rad.  Head shape is really really good!! Thankful they chose a nice deep blue and matte and not the Epic 🟩 or Maverick 🟧 color way

 

If it’s not directly reflecting sunlight…it has a much darker look.  I remember thinking that when I saw it in person a few weeks ago.

Navy camo.  Should have gone digital camo.  It’s OK looking.  But I like the color scheme of the new Great Big Bertha Driver.  Hopefully it performs.  With the TSR and G430 out there, would love to know what will set Paradym apart from the others.

I would love to see the cut up internal of the 3D head, magic sauce is in there.

 

I hope they can bring the silly forgiveness of the Rogue ST Max into a Paradym 3D head and give me the adjustability to control the spin with the front weight - that would be my 🦄

its not fake, that is how the carbon pattern is when its "forged", just has a blue clearcoat over it

Makes me think of the Bio Cell+ with an ATI Titanium face.  All good by me. I like it the look, just a bit concerned about all those parts staying together for some of you monsters on here.

Yes, there are a couple of spots that are concerning.  I have faith that Callaway will put out a quality product and hopefully this won't be the ongoing story.  If all else fails, they do have excellent customer service.
