DeChambeau Up 25 Lbs

Bryson has some new Instagram pictures where he said he is up to 220 from 195 (just weeks ago he was 195?). Plans to get up to 230. Gotta get some bigger muscles if he plans to hit those LA Golf graphite shafts that are a full flex stiffer than X7s.

 

In all reality, you have to wonder if Bryson is just the type of guy that has to do this stuff to keep him interested.

For an educated guy he is making himself look rather silly. 25lbs in a matter of weeks, congrats, you’ve gained 24.5lbs combination of fat/water/food weight.

Definitely not impossible by any means. Lot of water/food/fat weight. Him and I are they same height and if he wants to be 230 then he is nowhere near as intelligent as he thinks he is. I have trained and powerlifted for years and “bulk” into the low 200’s and 12% bf. Walk around 190 and 8-10%bf during the golf season. Guarantee if he actually gets to 230 he will lose it by spring because he won’t get along well with carrying that weight.

Getting stronger can certainly help in a lot of ways, but it seems that his main fixation is just gaining weight in general. I am interested to see if he looks any different when he comes back and if his ball speeds increase in tournament play. I love that they have so many Trackmans (trackmen?) set up at the tourneys now to track ballspeed and apex.

He's doing the anti Brooks. Koepka plays fast, he plays slow. Koepka wins majors, he wins regular events. Koepka loses weight for a photo shoot, he gains weight for social media. Koepka plays regular clubs, he's playing graphite single length clubs. I'm not sure what he's going through, but it almost seems like he's trying waaay too hard to stand out.

Rest assured he has an equation to calculate whatever weight he is aiming for. Has probably read a dozen papers on the subject. Is probably doing 4.36 reps when deadlifting.

Being heavier/stronger doesnt necessarily mean he's going to hit the ball any farther, if that's what his ultimate goal is.

 

Often times, people who gain/lose a bunch of weight in the golf world end up having adverse affects on their game, not positive ones, because the body basically has to re-learn how to swing the club again. Wasn't it Carl Petterson a few years ago who was playing well, shed a bunch of weight, had his game go to hell, so he decided to put the weight back on to where he was at before, and then started playing well again?

 

Sometimes your body type is your body type, and you have to do the best you can with it. Nothing wrong with being healthy and strong, but it just seems to me that Bryson is just trying to gain some attention here.

I follow him on the gram and was going to post this same thing. It is not lifting heavy at all. He was curling what looked like a 25 pound weight. In another thread I said he could make some drastic changes and be "ripped" he is not going that route. He is probably just drinking weight gainer and doing a bit of lifting. What it should him doing was not enough overload. I dont know what he is trying to accomplish. The best part is that Phil was clowing is skinny calves.

Absolutely no chance that he has put on 25lbs of muscle in that time. Honestly, is it not about time that we just press the mute button on this guy. He feeds on this nonsense and thinks that we are all interested.
