$100 to spend on a putter - what are you buying?

Obviously does not have to be new, most likely couldn't be anyways

A used version of whatever I was fit into? This is such a broad and personal question, what anybody here says may not, and probably should not, apply directly to you.

You can get Cleveland Huntington Beach series putters for under $100/new and I just bought one this week actually.

Otherwise I'd be getting another Ping Anser 2 Sigma G for under $100.

I'm not looking for a putter recommendation just interested in what people's answers would be

I bought a used scotty squareback 1 (2008) for $140.

2018 model. Wilson Staff Infinite. Huge bargain at 100 bucks US$ or less. Milled face, great feel. The Bean is great if one wants face-balanced.

The Tommy Armour Impact 3 is $99 and was considered the best mallet regardless of cost by the MGS site.

One of the Cleveland Huntington beach putters for sure. Look great and nice soft feel due to the coarse face milling. Look quite quality too for the price. Or something used, found my sc in mint shape for 150, not always gonna be the case but deals do come along.

Great topic. I think the options out there for a nice gamer are almost overwhelming. Cleveland makes an underrated putter, can never go wrong with a Ping, and if you wait and look hard enough can grab a Scotty on some places. I personally would be looking at Odyssey. Either their Protype or their White Hot series.

I played a round with a guy that had an original Zebra putter that drained putts like it was his job. I remember picking up a Zebra in high school (late 90's) for 30 bucks.

I played around with that putter at GG last weekend. It's ok. I preferred the new 2 ball fang with slant neck.

Another vote for Cleveland HB.. I just picked one up and sold both Scottys. These things are awesome.

Probably an Odyssey...the White Hot Pro V line is a favorite. I think Odyssey's that are only a few years old are a great value for putters that perform very well. If an insert isn't your thing, some of the older milled styles can be found in that price range.

A good old nickel Ping B60 for $50 and blow the rest on great wings and a few Gumball Heads.

I would be looking at used Odyssey #7's - particularly a White Hot XG. But that's just me.

Callaway Preowned clearance on a 20% off sale or wait until they do 30-40% off putters sale and have your pick. You can get any number of Odysseys that would be what you were fit for around $100. Great putters and even better deals

I usually buy one new putter each year for $100 or less to experiment with the different headshapes and hosels. This year I grabbed a new W/S Infinite Lincoln Park for $50. Last year I found a lightly used TM Spider Tour for $70.

Find a scotty that fits your stroke. Won’t lose much value, if any at all if you take care of it

I was curious about this cause for lefties cheap stuff is usually junk and the rare gem that needs a bit of TLC. So searching I found lots of old Ping, Odyssey, Rife, TaylorMade, Cleveland and Yes putters. For me the Ping's are probably the most appealing then I realized I have a Yes Callie i-Tech I paid well less than $100 for, I'd throw in a new shaft, grip and could probably buy a head cover and still be under $100. So probably go with that.

I just bought an Odyssey White Hot Pro V-line putter for less than $100 on eBay. Will be considerably more once I get the SuperStroke Traxion XL grip installed though.

A used Odyssey ProType 2, the fully milled version.

First figure out what type of putter suites your stroke and eye and what weight and grip your like. Then go find a nice used one. I personally like the Never Compromise Gambler Royal and Dinero Baron putters both of which are forged and milled 303 SS and can be found for around $100 in great condition. I just bought an Odyssey ProType #2 for $100. It is a forged fully milled carbon steel putter. I'm not sure the Protype will kick the NC Gambler out of the bag but it is nice putter. As others have mentioned Cleveland makes a good putter that can be had for well less than $100 used.

Another vote for the Cleveland Hunting Beach putters. Excellent putters.

On a high level, it is difficult to buy a used milled putter for less than $100. Most of non-milled stuff can be had for less than $100 if they are 2 or 3 years old.
