Best deep faced 3 wood

I’m on a seemingly never ending search for the right three wood. I have tried everything under the sun (that is made in left handed) and I still keep going back to my old Titleist 906 F2. I don’t know if it’s because of the deeper face or it sits open, but I feel like I can go down after it a bit more. The newer three woods always few as though if I hit down and don’t strike it well, I could pop it up. Anyway, I’m wondering what deep(er) faced three woods others have tried and enjoyed. I’m having trouble even finding one of similar depth.

If you can find one Tour Issue Deep face 2016 M2 cannot be beat. It's the only three wood I have got along with.

I'm not a lefty so I dont no if the tour only m216 deep face was made for south paws.

If not the xhot and xhot2 3deep would be up your alley. By the way I still game a 18 906f2 love the small head and deep face, I just shafted it with a speeder ts 7.2x and it keeps up with most 5woods I've played.

All time lefty? That's easy, the OG cally 3 deep. Hot like fire but tougher off the deck. Mainly due to bottom not shaped for ideal turf interaction but wow off the tee...a consistent repeatable wow.

I have the cb2 5 wood and it is nuclear. I have used it to gouge the ball out of less than ideal places with great success. I think I paid 20 bucks for it and threw a whiteboard pull in it. It would be a very inexpensive trial if you can find it in lefty.

If you can find one of the original Ping Rapture 3 woods they were a cannon. A little tougher off the fairway, but money off the tee.

Right now I game a tour issue 3 deep as a second tee club. It has a ton of hot melt in it and launches easily off the deck and is nuclear off the tee. Most of the time, it’s in my bag.

 

I have a fourteen 816 as a 5 wood (if I’m playing short courses, I’ll drop the 3 wood and 2 iron)

 

If I’m playing courses where I need a 3 wood into a par 5, I’ll go with the CBX but I rarely do it.

Just find a fresh 906 and throw a nice shaft in it. Those heads are money. The original multi material construction. Such a pure face and shape. Go Henrik on em.

Rogue/Flash SZ isn't too deep faced but it looks a touch deeper than standard version. Very hot off the face and still not that hard to hit off the deck. Very low, fade biased flight.

XR Steelhead 3+ or 4+ is another one to look at. Smaller head but plenty deep enough. I have a 4+, m2 Deep face, and 3deep all sitting in waiting.

Still rocking the Rapture 3 Wood 13 Degrees. Still a cannon from the tee or fairway. One of the few 3 woods that can do it all for me. Likely not going anywhere any time soon.

I agree with everything, except it isn't tough off the turf. I've stopped trying to replace this club.

The Exotics CB2 did not come in lefty.

It depends what you are after. I tested the Callaway XR 3 Deep and it was literally going too far, was carrying it 255ish yards and my driver carry is about 265.

 

Ended up with the "normal" XR as this spun a bit more and carried 10-15 yards less which is more usable for me.

 

But it it's a driver replacement off the tee you are after then bomb away!

The Tour Edge "Beta" versions of FWs have deeper faces. I'm looking at a EX10 Beta 4W (16.5*) with a 54-gram R.flex Graphite Design Tour AD shaft.

 

I've hit a 60-gram shaft version of the 4W in open air, and could swing more aggressively than with a low-profile head.

 

EX10 Beta comes with non-adjustable heads of 3+, 3, 4 and 5 woods. Also, the adjustable sole weight allows you to tweak MOI and spin.

The original x hot 3 deep was excellent off the tee. The courses I play rarely call for fairway wood off the deck so I cannot comment on its ability from the fairway. I can say I wouldn’t be the guy you want testing a fairways abilities from the deck, though.

 

No love for the 910fd or 913fd? I’ve played both the 910f and 913f woods but I got chance to try the 913fd (pending an auction win).

 

Has anyone played the 913fd? I’d call myself a high ball hitter. Was hoping to be able to hit a lower, more chase style shot off the deck with this club.
