How well would you play against a tour pro if they played under your conditions?

Ok, here's the set up, maybe even pick a tour pro you think you could give it a good go with. They have to start the day having slept in your house, eating just like you do for breakfast, and lunch, doing your job too, then get to the course like you do in your car. They only get the warm up time you get. No caddy, they have to play with clubs exactly like yours, same ball, on your course, under the same conditions, wearing the same outfit as you and shoes. (same aches and pains as you too) They play along with you and your friends. How well would you play against a tour pro if they played under your conditions?

They’d still shoot ridiculous scores. Go look at mid am golf of pros who got their amateur status back because they weren’t good enough and now have regular jobs and families. They play a few times a month and still shoot very low scores. One of my students who didn’t make it playing professionally (but did play in a PGA Tour event) made the match play of the US Mid Am last year and plays golf maybe once a week and has 3 kids.

They might shoot 64 instead of 63. They don't shoot great scores because they're pampered... they do it because they are amazing at golf

If they gave me 5 aside, it'd be close!

Well this is rather interesting to read what everyone has to say. I almost never practice, maybe a dozen or so crappy balls into the woods once or twice a month with some chipping practice too, lucky to play once a week from February to October, I am 56, always have back and neck pain from arthritis work 40+ hours a week in a machine shop(Machinist) have to take care of a 125 year old house with an acre of land and maintain three cars that are 12+ years old, be a family man with three kids 18 to 32 years old and three grandchildren, have to do shopping with the wife at least every other weekend so we can have some tooling around time. So a pro would not be as good as they are simply because of my responsibilities or any of the average persons for that fact. In my case it would only be able to include Senior Tour Players to be fair. I am sure their scores would suffer greatly as mine does.

For all you guys saying these guys couldn’t handle your routine...

Tiger Woods just had a spinal fusion, didn’t touch a club for over half a year, and essentially shot in the 60’s the second he was allowed to take full swings. You really don’t think these guys couldn’t handle a night in the factory, then

McDonalds for breakfast and no warmup? Anthony Kim used to party all night, occasionally showed up just in time for the tee time, and still shot in the 60’s... ON THE PGA TOUR.

This thread shows a general lack of understanding of PGA Tour level golf.

Realistically my only chance would be to find a small teetotal pga tour player and then drink 8 beers before we play. I’d get worse but I think they would get a LOT worse.

I'd like to see a tour pro be a nurse for a night, get three hours of sleep and walk 18. I do still think they would kick the s*** out of me and the boys

Im hoping most of these posts are mostly sarcasm, because if not it explains why our world is continually becoming less intelligent. I'd be happy to keep it within 30 strokes

99% of all PGA Tour players are freaks of nature and work their asses off to be there. They have God given talents most people only dream of. The other 1% are just stubborn hard workers and don't ever give up. You are considering beating a guy that is in the top 200 golfers in the entire world.....and you think you can beat him when he spends a day at your job?

Please feel free to invite one to your "Take a PGA Tour Pro to Work Day". Then the next day please feel free to get your a** handed to you on a platter. Don't bet any money you can't afford to lose, because you will. Unless you are at least a +4 or better cap you won't stand a chance.

A tour pro could just carry a 6 iron and still wax almost anybody on this board.

I feel like I would have a number of advantages over the tour pro. I'm very familiar with the course, he has never seen it. For me the match is a big deal and I really focus on every shot. For hm its kind of a goof and he is just playing a fun round. I'm sleeping in my own bed, he has to travel to play on my home course. Add this all up, I would play very well and get beaten like a rented mule. What a dumb question with an obvious answer.
