I carry a 4 hybrid. I’m 30 and my bag goes: D, 4w, 4h, 5iron. The 5 iron gets left home a lot I’ve considered pulling my 5 and 6 to replace them with one hybrid to get down to 12 clubs.

60 years young. 1 18 degree hybrid Apex 19 .May add the 23 degree soon. 5-GW are Rogue X irons with recoil 760 regular shafts. I am accurate with my 5 iron is my 170 club . hybrid is my 185-195 club. Evenflow black shaft in stiff is the best hybrid shaft I have ever hit. Go figure I play regular graphite in my irons.

I'm 55 and I did buy a 2 iron hybrid but hit it too low. Somehow I thought I should hit it higher than my 2 iron. Maybe because it wasn't the best quality, it was a component club. I orderd a 5 wood for it's replacement. the longest iron I have is a 4 iron game improvement club, the rest of my irons are small cavity backs. I remember reading about tour players in the 90s who played played blades but had game improvement 2 and 3 irons, like pings. What a combination.

"Shirtsleeve" swing technique:

1. Setup: Elbows bent forearms pressed together against shaft slightly forward of center with "Hogan" "active/flexed" leg tension left foot turned out slightly and the right leg slightly farther to the right - weight mostly on balls of feet butt of left hands sits on the top of the grip with very light grip.

2. Swing - W/o disturbing weight distribution of legs and feet lower hands while doing a forward press "swing trigger" then the left upper arm takes over on the backswing, it needs to go out in front of the body then back in front of the chest as the hands trace down initially then up to over the right shoulder "Torres". The goal is to not disturb the pressure of the feet during the initial takeaway.

Notes:

1. Only swing thought after swing trigger - extend left arm at shirt sleeve when reaching left hand over right shoulder "Shirtsleeve technique".

2. The upper left arm move "Shirtsleeve technique" can be practiced independently without a club, sitting down for instance

3. The correct feet tension can be felt by doing very short hops on the balls of the feet then holding the same feeling of pressure on the front of the feet and then taking three practice swings with the grip very loose in order to not disturb the same pressure on the feet and on the 3rd swing actively do the "Shirtsleeve" move. From there the swing should be done within a matter of seconds to not lose the feel of the legs resisting, this way this is not a learned technique as much as it is a setup technique.

56 years old, one hybrid in the bag. It's a stage 2 Tour 2h, I use it as a fairway wood replacement. Otherwise, 2-PW Golden Rams, have added a LW to the SW. I like shorter club lengths in the longer clubs with heavier shafts, easier to manage that with a hybrid.

Play twice a week, usually Friday/Saturday. Like to try get out on weekdays here and there, but not much success this season so far.

I'm lucky in that it was my #2 son that got me started with golf, when he was 13. I didnt have the new parent layoff that happens with some.

I go Driver 3w 5w 3h 4h 5i... at the moment. The woods and hybrids are all from the Wilson staff fybrid line from 12 years back.

I put a TEE XCG5 3 hybrid in play as a lower/hotter version of the 5w but couldn't get it to hold greens. I switched to the Wilson that matched the 3w/5w, and then added a 4 hybrid when my 4 iron wouldn't stop going left.

I'm 24 years old.

Just turned 51. Carry a pair of Titleist 818H2 hybrids. Have a 2-hybrid @18* (turned down from 19*), primarily used as an alternate club off the tee (240+ carry). And a 3-hybrid @21* that is my do-everything utility club. Carry a 4-iron and still hit it well (200 carry) but no 5i in the bag. Can see a scenario where I replace the 4 with another hybrid, and have my irons start down from 6i.

Going a bit off topic but I've got to chime in. I carried 15 clubs for a season. Couldn't make up my mind what to pull out. I mentioned it to a guy in my group that I carried 15 clubs and he would make mention of it every round. It bugged him every round. He was always about beating me. When I would beat him he would always say but with all your penalty strokes you really didn't. I didn't care one way or the other.

My friend was a computer consultant and he had another job..I was asked to be a fill in at his firms annual scramble. At the time I didn't know that is was a sin to beat the boss. I played in the second to the last group, with my friend and his boss in the last group. It was evident that my group was going to at least beat the boss. On the 17th hole there was a wait and I notice the boss come over and he was looking at my clubs. I didn't think anything of it.

At the end of the tourney we had come in first and the boss and my friends group was second. At the table I was sitting at the buzz was about beating the boss. I had played extremely well and the other three were having a great time about us beating the boss.

When the awards begin the boss stands up and mentions our group had been disqualified for cheating because I was carrying 15 clubs. I am laughing at my friend for ratting on me. It gets better. I state that I only have 14 clubs in my bag and my friend says I know you play 15. I tell him do you know that this tourney states that you have to play by the rules.

His boss is so anal that we have to go to my truck and count the clubs in my bag which is what he was trying to do on hole 17. When my clubs are counted at 14 my friend says I know it's here somewhere. So I offer to let them search my truck but they decline.

Oh by the way my friend WAS THE PASTOR AT MY CHURCH at the time.

The closest I've seen to my setup. 16* and 21* hybrids, essentially in the 3 and 5 wood roles (the Exotics hybrids are long), then 4 - PW and 3 vokeys. My 4 and 5 irons might as well be hybrids though, as they are Adams CB3 irons that are easy to hit. With other iron sets, I often play 2, 3, and 4 hybrids, with no woods. Age is 59.

Srixon Zx65 Combo Irons (Z565 6, Z765 7-9, Z965 PW) w/TT AMT Black
Vokeys: SM7 52-12F, SM7 58-12D, WedgeWorks 60-10V (at 62-12), all w/Pro Modus3 115 Wedge
