He actually admits to a lot of mistakes here. And he gives great props to BH

This sounds odd, not sure what he means,

“I've got to fix whatever is going on up here," he said. "I have no idea. Just dizziness. It's only when I go from down to up, so I can't even like think and talk right now. But that's just what happens -- I go down and up, and my brain gets all disoriented. I've got to fix that, and once I fix it I'll be even better than now, and when something arises in the future, I'll just keep trying to fix it."

He’s a tool not a genius IMO

Hard to believe that is true. Even at the club level that kinds of garbage does not work, hard to believe a pro would ever fall for that.

Go read Mark Frost's "The Match."  Snead would most certainly do that. He treated Venturi or Ward(can't recall which one) basically as described.  If he could get into a guy's head, he would do it.

2017 Masters thread had 122 pages and there are normally 400+ users in the thread at the peak.

Surprised by the lack of interest.

decrease in forum traffic doesn't necessarily equate to "lack of interest" ... just lack of interest in posting on the internet ...

Anyone else catch Bruce's interview after his round?  Saying the soft conditions benefitted pickers vs diggers and DJ is a picker of the ball.  Bruce being Bruce once again.  Every time he opens his mouth he just makes me like him less and less.

but he's the first one to say "i don't care" as he rants about not being on anyone's radar enough ...

Love the Masters. Even without crowds and firm greens I still love it. Great win by DJ. Who would have thought it was his putter that made the difference. He needed those putts on 6 and 7. I'm not saying he wouldn't have won it but you could see the lift he got after starting to stumble. And birdies on 13 and 15 where he layed up!!!

Nelson was an assassin....so was Snead...so was Hogan

but Nelson curb stomped them...he was next level

The year Nelson won 11, hogan and snead each won 5....Nelson finished 2nd in an additional 7 tournaments...

he later lamented not winning 20 tournaments that year

Lord Byron would rip your throat out...albeit with a kind smile

snead and Nelson were not quite as genial....nor as good

Ya, I just watched the presser. He actually very normal, lol, just soft spoken. Hard to imagine him mad but, with these quiet ones, look out if he is!

Didn’t realize he grew up so close to Augusta. His childhood dreams come true, amazing.

It’s like if you grew up playing ball in NYC schoolyards and end up playing center field for the Yankees and winning the World Series.

I guess it’s cause Paulina but got me thinkin...if you win the green jacket, do you wear it to “bed”? 😂

don't know, but i'll bet she looks damn good in it ...

Biggest tool in the game.

Hope DJ is dominate for a few years in majors so I can hear Bruce cry more

If I were in that position, and the media was stayed away from me, I would be grateful. I could go out and chances are I wouldn't be recognized. Which would suit me just fine.

Is IM sponsored by Wonderbread?

That's what I said. Wonderbread has been my nickname for him since last season.

It's that white cap and logo!

Great job by DJ! Hope he continues this momentum throughout the rest of the season!

Brooks really poked the sleeping giant.

I really enjoy watching DJ swing. When I was a teenager, I had some similar things going on with my swing (obviously not on the same planet as good as DJ!) - but I had the strong left hand grip, bowed wrist at the top of the backswing with an apparent shut clubface, but with a really nice, powerful fade. Stupidly listened to a pro that I had a few lessons with and completely changed my swing...and turned into a drawer/hooker of the ball. I regret it so much as I was so much more comfortable with my old swing.

Ah, the memories!

I wonder if they always planned that pin or a change due to soft conditions. We are all so used to how that normal position is played and it would have played vastly different with it so soft.
The vaunted Sub Air system really did not seem to do its job this week.

I just finished watching the broadcast here (recorded it). The Japanese commentators said something about it being placed there because the usual position would become a mess in the wet conditions as all the players tramped over it, or something along those lines. I supposed the top layer dries out better.

I don't know whether they were passing on first-hand info they had got from the competition committee, or if it was just their speculation, but they sounded pretty definite on it.

Congratulations to DJ, that was an outstanding win. He drove the ball really well on the back nine, and putted well, which is always important at Augusta.

Interesting to hear that Cameron Smith became the first played to shoot in the sixties in all four rounds of the Masters. I sort of like that one record still remains to be broken: to shoot all four rounds in the sixties in the Masters AND win the tournament.

It was interesting to watch the tournament without crowds and grandstands as it gave me a much better idea of the layout. I've also not balls go down to the water on 15 before like Rory's did, and Im's nearly did, though I don't think that had anything to do with the grandstands.

Finally, I was curious to see if there would be a repeat of the 2016 US Open, when the cameraman followed behind DJ and his wife's backside on their way into the scorer's booth. None of that at Augusta, which just goes to show that the Master's is so much dullerclassier😝
