Not at all. I’m just listening to the point of view that says this major suited the chaps with less intestinal fortitude. I’m sure DJ would rather win a real jacket in April

So all of those blokes with the real big cahones basically didn't even try, without big crowds what is the point. Lol, they must be putting something in the tea over there

It's a real win cause they all had the same chance.

But the scores were a little better but its still relative.

RORY did say that he usually loses 10-15 pounds during the week cause of all the excitement, crowds, adrenaline etc but this week he was calm and prob gained weight, tells you everything about the easier conditions.... BUT still relative so good on ya DJ!

Can't figure how to like my own posts

So, are we all calling Brooks Koepka "Bruce" now? Did I miss a memo or something?

Yep. Bruce and Bison.

Why did he choose this week of all weeks to break out a cut shot off the tee?

If we’re talking about Rory I agree. But. We’re missing the obvious issue.  It wasn’t the fade attempt.  He’s hit a fade with driver at will for a while.  It was the shaft change.  He went to the ventus black.   That shaft and the KK shaft he’s always loved are NOT similar in feel or performance.  He swapped chasing ballspeed and carry.  In response to Bison.     Wrong tournament to swap feels in.

he’s also just been awful in opening rounds in majors, typically plays good the last 1 or 3 rounds he plays in

MilesGiles,

Please take -5.5 majors away from Tiger and the records he set at The Old Course

Sunny and warm, no wind.  We Canadians call that BENIGN weather, he wasn't playing in Scotland that week, it was like a holiday round with the chaps in Southern Spain

Please give Hogan eleventeen more majors for his work at Carnoustie

Are you kidding me?    He's been Bruce since his first major.

C'mon, stay with us.

Lol. Yep I know.  Bison D. Is the recent occurrence.  Two Alter-egos of the same super villain I suspect.  Has anybody seen them both in the same room ?

Another interesting thing popped up in my head, normally the master's champion gets to keep his green jacket off property for a year..ie until the next champion is crowned. If DJ doesn't repeat, will he only get to keep his green jacket outside of AGNC for 5 months or will there be a special 1 time exception? Or should he not even be allowed to leave with it, since you know, it wasn't a real major and thus not deserving of the jacket

He doesn’t get a locker either.  They said he can change and shower in the locker room if he wants to but he has to take all his stuff with him when he leaves

MO seems to be to have that clanker either second or third round and then dig like heck to get near contention in round four but come up short.

Isnt what Hogan did at Carnoustie 20 years before I was born why the British still talk about him to this day? I’ve already forgotten last weeks “Masters”.. (air quotes)

Well people don’t exactly get misty eyed about majors like that but there was indubitably a crowd

That 'crowd' of voices you keep hearing aren't external, they're in your head. DJ won the Master's and for you to discount it for ANY reason is both inane and petty. Touch the DJ doll where he hurt you..

This is a fun game.  Which other majors can we take away?  I'm thinking if I get creative enough I can take away a good number.

Here's an idea: in regards to DJ's win at Oakmont he actually gets credit for 2 majors, I say again 2 majors, because, milesgiles, not only does Oakmont meet your criteria of being firm, dry, having crowds ect.. that particular major also has the distinction of the USGA knowingly and purposely trying to sabotage Dustin WHILE HE WAS STILL ON THE F**** COURSE.

DJ was still able to win at Oakmont and for the reason that the Sunday was an absolute cluster F**** courtesy of the USGA -  DJ now gets credit for 2 majors coming from one tournament.

Congrats to DJ, for winning his 3 major at Augusta on Sunday.  Well done!

Reminds me of a great scene in the Jerk:

Tigers scoring after he took the 10 on twelve might be the most insane part of yesterday. He lit the course up! DJ was a very deserving champion and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the emotion that seems to elude him in most interviews.

Can I say one thing without offending TW fans?

Sometimes it is easier to go low when not in the mix.   You see it all the time in club C's and big Am events, someone will be 3 under on the last 12 holes yapping afterwards how they could've been in the mix except for the 7-7-7- run on holes 2-3-4.   I've been that guy.

The truth in a lot of cases is, it's easy to go low once you are not contending, the pressure is gone and you are freed up

This doesn't 100% apply Tiger because even with a 4 on the 12th he was miles back

I do not know how the majority here felt but I absolutely did not enjoy watching the coverage of this years Masters..

Without the spectators and the noise this was not only unappealing but no amount of great shotmaking and announcer's verbose articulation the the action and history of the event could make up for the lack of a gallery.

I guess the best thing I can say about it is that it was better than nothing but if it is going to be the new "normal" I wouldn't be surprised if everyone involved in the the tv coverage better look for another job..

Sorry for my gloomy remarks in light of more serious problems the whole world is facing but as someone who has faithfully watch all Masters coverage as far back as I can remember I just can't help it..

...I will however congratulate DJ for winning his second major and wish him the best in the future..

Did you watch it using the "MyGroup" feature on Masters.com? That s*** is legit m8 and no commentators. Definitely try it next April.

Yea, I think it was more changing mindset and changing goals. I think he went from being disengaged a little to a mindset of "I'm going to finish this tournament under par" and that gave him a jolt.

To your point, its easier when theres less pressure, that could have been it too.

He's -3 standing on 12 tee. Even if he goes nuts and eagles the two 5s and birdies the others thats -9, or -12 under total. We know hes a fighter, but he probably knows thats not going to do it unless ~15 other guys collapse.
