Do most of the new driver heads have pretty much static weights? Really just changing the amount of weight not really the placement? I heard Ping was not really satisfied with the 410 weight distribution(supposedly it messed up the MOI with how much the weight moved) Even the new SIM2 has no real adjustment. Interesting if they all go that way.

I have the 425 LST in the bag for 2 rounds. It is a great driver. I haven't had enough time to really get a handle on what it truly offers but it worked very well the 1st time out. I only hit it 6 times but never missed a fairway and shot even par with a double. There was no adjustment period from the 410 LST and my shaft worked in it at the same settings no problem. I felt it was a bit longer but with the temps and wet fairways this time of year its hard to tell. It does sound better and looks better to my eye. Very rounded and pear shaped compared to the 410. I need to experiment with the weight a bit more. A quick range session before the round didn't show me much difference in the 3 locations but that is far from conclusive.

I was playing a Mavrik driver up until August with pretty good results. I was chosen to review a Callaway BB B21 driver on another website and found it's low spin technology to help a lot in mitigating my monster fade. In the past I needed to flirt dangerously with tree limbs on the left side to place my ball on the right side of the fairway. With the B 21 I still aim a bit left but now am able to find the middle of the fairway.WARNING the B 21 is not a cure for your slice, however if you do put some effort in your swing plane it lessens the ill effects on the ball.

+1. Surprised myself for sure but the Callaway B21 9 degree is in my bag, beating out standard Mavrik and Srixon z585. The B21 spins less than the other two for me. As good a fairway finder as the Srixon and that is saying something. Getting excellent distance, it is long, and no ballooning. Sound is top notch — very pleasing. Always prefer color contrast between face and crown and this has it. Fun driver to hit.

Supposed to be anti-slice but I have not noticed any particular draw bias at standard settings. It goes straight and is easy to draw or fade. The weight forward inside the head definitely lowers spin. Very lively driver with the newest Flash Face. Stock shafts are solid. I’m going to try a fairly stout Diamana in it but the RCH 65, while giving a noticeable kick at impact, has given me a solid baseline.

Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond 10.5 w/Diamana TB 60S

PXG GEN6 5 wood w/Diamana S-plus 70 stiff

Yamaha RMX VD 7 wood w/Diamana S-plus 70 stiff

Callaway Mavrik Pro hybrid (22) w/Aldila Tour Blue 85 stiff hybrid

Wilson Staff Model CB 5-G w/DG s300 shafts

Edel T grind 54 w/Nippon 125 wedge shaft

Fourteen RM-12 58 w/Dynamic Golds400

Axis1 Rose putter, 34 inches

I have travelled back from the future where I hit all of next year's drivers.  There wasn't one that stood out to me, but there will be a new golf ball next year that will redefine the category in terms of ball speed and spin.  Order of magnitude improvement over this year's balls.  I had to sign a NDA, so I can't divulge the details.  But as I think about it, I signed that NDA in the future, so it might not yet apply.  Let me reach out to my attorney for some legal advice and get back to you.

i've hit the new callaway driver. Epic speed, max and max LS. The max LS is pretty damn good. hit it with a stock shaft and the spin was super low and felt great. IMO they messed up with the head design giving the speed the better shaped head.

Yeah i don't get the mini cannon ball looking head (again).  Give better players the triple diamond shape and it will sell.  The Mavrik SZ or the SZ series as a whole isn't a big seller.  Performance is there, no doubt about it, but people also need to like what they are looking down at. Was hoping they would make that change for the epic max ls and was disappointed when they didn't.

This isn’t going to be the most incredible driver of all time year.  It’s going to be the year where drivers are starting to come closer together.  You could take your pic of the major brands and even the ones you didn’t think of before are making a decent driver.  Like Srixon... the playing field is even

I completely agree and have said it in one way or another before. This is why looks and feel will be more important than ever. With that criteria look for Titleist to make huge gains and TM to fall back a touch(Sim 2 looks like the Sim with a more distracting color scheme) and from what we've seen of the Callaway drivers I cannot imagine them going anywhere but down. I really hope whatever model is replacing the SZ really does have the shape of the TD.

Eh...this happened in 2019 IMO. The M6/Epic Flash/ST190/TS-series/etc. They're all the same with varying degrees of sound and feel, and of course fanboys on the internet spewing what they want about their favorite brands.

Subjective of course, but...

You like classic and monotone? Buy Titleist

You like features and color? Buy Callaway

You like the underdog and sound? Buy Mizuno

You like old school feel/sound and good performance? Buy TM

And if your back is out of alignment because of sitting on your wallet full of cash, you could get relief of most of that extra height, and the absolute last yards of distance (with the most garish color combination on the planet); by matching up the new Cobra RadSpeed with the neon pink AutoFlex shaft with the magic pixie dust out of Korea. 🤪

I think it’s reasonably safe to say each generation of Mizuno driver since the ST180 has been a step forward. Olivia Cowan did a YT video for Mizuno where part of it covered her hitting the new driver. IIRC, She picked up a bit of yardage and found the new driver more forgiving.

I'm a 2 handicap and I play a G410 LST..... I'm not a huge a fan of turbulators either, but Ping still makes a great feeling and competitive driver. I played a M5 last year and a 917 D3 before that, so I wouldn't classify myself as a Ping fanboy either. The G410 LST flat out performed and when I go to demo drivers for this upcoming season I will be looking hard at the G425 along with SIM 2, TSi3, Epic Max LS, RadSpeed, etc.

Any chance you’ve tested the tsi3 tsi2 and or mavrik vs sim /sim max?   I simply can’t seem to beat the sim line with anything.  And I do so  loathe TM.   Lol.  Every year I try to get the TM clubs out of my bag and every year I can’t.  The mavrik isn’t even close for me Distance wise.  And today the titleist offerings weren’t sniffing the sim max on ballspeed or spin.  Good grief Charlie Brown.
