I was surprised to see the i525 and glide 4.0 already on golf digest hot list

Well, I found them in the wild today. They were in a fitting cart at a local World Wide Golf Store here in the Phx area, Vans. 
 

They look amazing, they perform amazing. 
 

I gamed the 500’s for a few months, feel is much, much improved, no harshness at all. Sound is better as well, but still a little “clicky”. Sound wise I’d compare them to the current p790’s. Some people don’t like that sound but I’m used to hollow bodied irons. 
 

They flat out fly, high and long. They are also fairly forgiving, I tested the toe a bit, good front to back dispersion, didn’t lose a ton of distance on miss hits. 

 

Overall Ping has definitely improved from the 500. Should be a hit for Ping!

Man, they look great. Good to hear on sound and feel. Can’t wait for mine to get here!

Optional Stock steel shafts are going to be DG 105/120/, KBS Tour, Nippon Modus 105, TT Elevate 95. 

I didn’t ask about the graphite shafts.

Ping makes some of the best looking irons. I 59. I525. I230 hopefully will look just as good.

Did they shorten the blade length? Next to the ball it looks a little shorter than the i500.

If that's the true, then I'll be shocked beyond shocked if the Glide 4.0 retail is $206, like some have been claiming and complaining about.

Lot of great power bats released this year, but these are worth waiting for. A must try for me.

Hit the demo 7 iron today.  My pre-order has been in for some time now and I was getting these no matter what.  Feel and sound are much improved over i500 and that's all I wanted.  Has a more solid feel at impact.  Still a bit clicky but miles better than the i500.  Good looking club. The offset is minimal or at least hidden pretty well.  These were my insights after a half dozen swings.

 

Without doing an actual comparison, my other initial thoughts is the blade length is a tick shorter and sole width a tick wider.  I cannot verify the accuracy of those claims at this time.  I have owned the i500 for 3 years so I'm pretty familiar with it and those were my thoughts right off the bat.  I'd say the i525 blade length is longer than i59.  I honestly had no complaints and thought it looked great!  Top line also looked good.

I agree ... I tested them today also and had the same thoughts. Trying to decide if I'd go with standard or power spec in these. Probably will get a better feel after a good fitting.

When I ordered my i500 I request i200 power spec (it wasn't as strong) and i200 length.  I'm glad you mentioned it as it reminded me to update my pre-order on the 525.
