However, I suspect Dechambeau's epic levels of hubris would prevent him adopting a different strategy.

Okay, I'll stop with this topic. No need to deal with gratuitous insults. Why in the world would I lie? Not paying attention? I've been watching for 8 hours now, with no issues. There has to be some issue that is the reason why you have difficulties and I don't - I was simply trying to troubleshoot it. (And, as I own and run a technology corporation, I don't completely suck at troubleshooting.)

 

There's something neither of us are seeing. Was trying, in good faith, to try to figure it out with you. Something you clearly do not want.

Regarding coverage and announcers, I am watching on theopen.com, I have no idea what the female announcer looks like but she could take me home right now.  Something about Scottish/Irish/British accents from women absolutely melt me.

Yes sir. It was a fine distraction so I could sneak up behind folks seated in the top row of the lower deck and steal their hotdogs from under their seats. I’m ashamed I was a mean cuss in a mean stadium.

I think it must be your cable provider and not TGC or the feed. I'm watching on the Golf Channel and have had no static issues at all. 

 

[PS. You could actually get Peacock if you used a VPN - I don't think it is your government is restricting you, it is more likely to be geo-restrictions Peacock puts on its broadcasts. Lots of those services do it ... e.g., there are some Netflix programs available to subscribers in the US, but not the UK, and vice versa. But there are ways you can make it appear as though your computer is in the US. Just sayin' ... ;)]

 

Since several of us in different parts of the world are hearing the static, I would humbly suggest you just missed those portions of the coverage. Bathroom breaks, whatever.

 

On Peacock: it is not legally permitted to operate in Canada. We have some other services that are approved by the feds like Netflix, Prime,AppleTV+, etc but they are all unique feeds for this market and all inferior (except for Apple, which seems equally inferior in both Canada and the US). Some use VPNs to get US Netflix but the providers are taking steps to make that option fail. But that is a different conversation not germane to what we are discussing here.

Oh man, is it ever. As a Canadian who had never been to the UK before, it was a very blatant introduction to what 'snootiness' truly is. 

it started with being treated like riff raff because we had the gall to show up wearing shorts WITHOUT knee-high socks...and then my Dad gets talked down to because he chose a golf shirt from "the section of the pro shop that is for members only". And to top it all off, we had to eat our snack after the round "outside" because we had no jacket.

I'll agree with you that the parcel of land itself is indeed better than the other two we played, but the other two courses just seemed like they were better taken care of, and they seemed more like the type of links golf we expected to play while over there. And, of course, they were SO much more polite & welcoming at RL and RL&SA.

The scoring discrepancy that the Golf Channel just showed for the front and back 9 is pretty nuts. The field is 90 over on the front today, and 25 under on the back!

Quick little story to pass along.. Recently lost a good friend’s dad. He would watch the Dodger game on tv and mute it, and listen to his transistor radio instead. Said he felt more like he was attending the games. I mean.. there must’ve been a tv delay right?! He didn’t care tho
