Most of the cosmetic points have been covered but i'll echo them; REALLY attractive head shape behind the ball. It sits very neutrally and definitely has the vibe of the older model smaller heads (M1 430, M5 Tour etc) in the sense that the footprint feels slightly more compact. I also feel like the whole "cheap Krylon" comments about the crown finish (which I agreed with when the initial photos came out) are moot. The crown actually looks very sleek/sharp and I don't get that same "cheap" vibe in person at all. The comments about the subtleness of the red face are spot on as well, it is a non-issue at address and honestly I wouldn't have minded it being brighter actually to serve as a really effective alignment contrast against green grass, but that would likely be even more polarizing. Mine sits more upright than my gamer SIMs so we'll see if that impacts anything in testing. 

My plan is to use impact tape to track strike location for gathering data on mishits and average out each quadrant (low/high and heel/toe) against my gamer. Frankly I wish the YouTubers had done something like this (maybe some did and I missed it?), but all I need to do now figure out the best way to get some weight in the head to build it up to spec for a true 1:1 shaft swapping test against my gamer which I am very comfortable with. Should be interesting!

Can’t wait for the review. As someone who is waiting on their delivery, did you do anything custom to the shaft? I have a feeling I might have to wait another few weeks for mine.

If I purchase one it's only for better results when hit outside the sweet spot. Unless something is seriously wrong with my M2 I know optimizing mis hits will be the only measurable results. Well, besides the cool factor of having a new driver.

Did I do anything custom from an ordering standpoint or from a setup one? The shaft is a KK proto that was mine that I stuck in here. It is tipped 1.5" because I play my drivers around 44.5" and prefer slightly heavier swingweights, so lots of extra head weight which means tipping to compensate.

Order status page. The Hrzdus red rdx shaft is 2" short. I ordered 5 minutes after the it became available.

Ok here is a great real world example if this. Go through the OG SIM threads on here and listen to dozens of first hand accounts of how incredibly hard it is to turn over. Now go to all your youtubers. I think only TXG ever mentioned this, and the explanation of why. Technology advances or not, you tube is a bad bad place for legit info period(when it comes to golf equipment). So what Im saying is this example is the very reason why I dont trust youtubers to tell me if there are any true gains or not. Heck they cant even get in the correct loft half the time when testing.

Here is where you lose me: Ian had to play his OG Sim with the weight in the toe setting (go watch the vids), so must not have been that hard to turn over for the better player, like most YouTube guys are, given they hit balls everyday.

Impossible? Of course not. If you close the face its gonna go left. But as far as toe strikes gearing, compared to everything else out there, (at least retail heads) Absolutely…

 

Second point/example. In nearly EVERY Stealth review early on using trackman, every reviewer was Seeing 2 mph+ extra CHS. Everyone of them dismissed it and didnt even bother to dig in deeper. Maybe a different launch monitor? Different kind of test… SOMETHING. Thats what kills me, is even if the gains slapped em straight in the face, they would dismiss it…. Much less even investigate it further.

I agree most youtube reviews are a joke. Vast majority of them are hitting a stock shaft they are not fitted for. TXG atleast puts the correct shafts in

His usual miss is off the toe. I believe he had the weight set to counter that tendency, not to prevent a draw.

Im sure that was part of it given his in-to-out swing path but, his preferred flight is definitely a draw. I played the OG SIM 8* for over a year. Loved it - but had to have the weight in the toe to offset both my toe strike miss and draw that could turn into a hook if I got quick.
