Which TaylorMade driver has been your fave?

I’ve owned my fair share. Some of my favs. 

 

- Tour burner TP circa 2008. I believe mine came with a Diamana white

For me the R5 was my favorite. The next are listed in order. The RBZ head, then the SLDR, then the M2 and last but not least is the R1.

SLDR was the longest, just a bomber when propery hit.. Ti Burner Bubble was the one I carried the longest.

Not the driver but M6 fairway woods are the best fairway woods I ever hit. Playing them with a G400.

510TP w/Graffaloy Blue S. Great club. Still in my basement… somewhere.

 

R9 Supertri. w/Fuji Motore 2.0. Controllable but not long. 
 

R9 Superdeep - Finally a TM head that didn’t spin enough. 

 

M1 2017 w/Diamana WhiteBoard. In and out of the bag for the last 4 years. Currently in.

 

M5 w/Hazardus Smoke - Felt Like I was hitting the ball with a plumbing pipe. Couldn’t feel where it was contacting the face.

M3 stayed in the bag for a long time. However the SIM2 has been even better for me. R7 425 TP was pretty bad a** too.

SIM2 MAXD turn loft down with a Diamana ZF is the most forgiving and one of the longest I’ve ever hit consistently. For the longest but not as forgiving the OG SIM was a beast with an Accra TZ6. Over all I’ve like most TM drivers all the way back to the R540 R580 heads. Always good on ball speed sound and tech.

Currently an M2 that I can't seem to get out of the bag. Before that I went through a bunch of TM drivers including:    the Burner, Burner Plus, Burner Bubble, titanium Burner Bubble, TM 200 series, r510 TP, r5 dual, r7 425, r7 460, r9 and a Rocket Ballz stage 2. (still have almost all of them)
All very good drivers in their time and I played most of them for a while. Seemed to be on the eternal search for "the one" back in the day. The r510 TP was the closest and I actually played that for a few years. I have tried most of the newer models and the M2 seems to be the current "one" and being I am turning 70 soon it may end up being the "one" for a good while longer.

Have gamed four TM drivers in my golf life. R9 (Great), RBZ (Also great), M1 (Hated), Sim 2 Max (Love).

By far an R9 with Fubuki 73 in it.  Could hit it either direction (sometimes even on purpose!!!) and it was really long.  I still had it, stored in my parents house in NC but lost it last year when their house burned down.  I had just hit it at the range the year before and was amazed at how well it still held up.

What?  What driver do you game? TM has made some of the greatest drivers of all time and you go all small headed as the "favorite"?  Maybe it's time to take a lesson and learn how to hit a driver?!

I hit driver just fine, Mr. Tour Edge Exotics. 😉

 

I've played many TM drivers over the year -- Burnr, R7, R9, as well as the Sim and Sim2 -- but they were all just OK to me so I quickly moved on to something else. The only ones I have truly liked are the ones I mentioned. The old school 1980s Original One was one of the first metal woods and was a revolutionary club for that era. I didn't play it for long because the tech evolved quickly back then. But it was a standout. 

 

And I mentioned the TM mini drivers because they are awesome clubs, but I have mostly played them as strong 3 woods not as driver replacements.

It was the 1st driver I hit straight on a consistent basis

I was hitting a Callaway Deuce before that because I could not hit a driver

 

Ended up trading it in for a Callaway X which I loved also

The R520 TP and the R7 TP were probably the best looking but the holy grail 300 Tour was my favorite. I used to hit rockets paired with the old Titleist Professional 100 balls. Loved it so much I never parted ways with the backup I had with a Rifle shaft….. Found some other classics while I was digging around in the garage.

R5 Dual TP. But it was the only TM driver I have ever owned.
