TaylorMade TRUSS. Worst Ever Golf Club Name?

These look hideous and gimmicky. But the name might be the worst I've ever heard for a golf club. I realize the word "truss" has different meanings, but all I can think of is the medical device/support used by people to prevent aggravation of their hernias. SMH.

I don't understand this putter.

I'm not an engineer, so I may be completely wrong, but isn't this not at all what trusses are even designed to do?

I though trusses are for load distribution and torsional resistance, not anything to do with reducing torque about an intersecting axis.

Looks like TaylorMade missed the boat on the ball/putter combo with this monstrosity unless there is something coming out next week that only pairs with the TP5 ball. We can only assume this putter has a great "personality".

Well the truss is not visible at address, but much like drivers with ugly bottoms, you know its there. I don't really care for the rather industrial look of these though.

The name is better than the look... that's for sure. These things are UGLY.

And while the idea holds some merit, it doesn't address the fact that the shaft is still the exact same diameter and material as always, and its still attached to that FUGLY truss at exactly 1 point. So... I don't see how it can be a monumental difference... they would have been better off from a design perspective stealing Wilson's old Fat Shaft idea. This is hands down the ugliest putter I have ever seen from a major OEM, and I will be shocked if it doesn't flop horribly, especially when other companies are putting in stability shafts and using higher and higher end materials.

These look like something you'd find in the general "Sporting Goods" aisle of Target, right next to the ping-pong paddles, badmitton sets and jump ropes.

And they want $300 for them.
