Is Spieth on his way to being the next Golfwrx Anthony Kim?

I kinda thought so a while ago.   But I remembered a few years ago when I thought Furyk was done and he reversed the trend and had a comeback.  It looks like he might be on the cusp of figuring it out.

Man...watching Spieth during the Final Rounds the last 2 weeks was extremely painful.

So many people want him to win so badly, but definitely seems like he has some type of performance anxiety or mental/emotional  blockage on Sunday’s?

Well....a few short months ago he was unable to get in the Sunday position to begin with so it is a notable progress.

He had an epic run for such a young player and the bar was set super high by all the talking heads.  He began to chase more distance and changed the fundamentals of his swing.  He has been chasing the feel that got him there since and the high expectations just put that much more pressure to fix it like yesterday.  He went from 'will he be the youngest to win the career grand slam' to 'what's wrong with Jordan'.  The pressure had to be mind boggling.

Looks like he's getting close to being back, to me. But also seems like the competition is better now than when he was dominant in 2015

I’m amazed and happy for him that he’s come this far.  He could be wiping his tears with 100 dollar bills the rest of his life after losing his game... but here he is grinding away at a comeback

Calling it right now, Spieth wins the Masters and the Open this year. In the off-season he becomes the QB for the Dallas Cowboys and leads them to a Super Bowl win!!

Come'on ..everyone knows the Cowboys don't win Superbowls anymore!!

He did something as his shots have some of that old quality they used to have.  Huge contrast to the hacky stuff he's been showing over the last two seasons.  Definitely something happened.

I think he is just starting to trust his swing again, starting to believe.  3 steps forward, 2 steps back...that's good for golf.  He has yet to put it all together, he's had good ball striking rounds, good short game rounds, good putting rounds, but he needs all 3 to click on Sunday.

Spieth's swing looked good today, especially with his irons. He is back playing much better than any point over the last three years.

Very interesting. Yeah, I just started really watching golf during this last year, so I didn’t see him when he broke on the scene.

Read a book recently talking about his early success on Tour and the belief he was the “Great White Hope” and the “next Tiger”...so it’s been an interesting case to watch him in the tournaments I’ve been able to watch.

No questioning he’s got all the tools in the World, and definitely seems like a ton of people believe in him and want him to get back to that level.

He’ll never be the next Tiger, but if he gets back on track he could end up with a few more majors and be one of the best of his era.  I think his ceiling is a Tom Watson type of career.

He's playing some nice cuts and his irons are spot on right now. It seems as though when he hits draw with driver he isn't going at it as hard. So it draws instead of hook. Just an arm chair golf instructors opinion. It's fun to watch. Love to see him take down Bryson at the Masters on his way to a win.

I’m a huuuge Tiger fan but what’s stood out to me in Tiger’s career the past few years is that when he gets in contention it’s usually not good enough to win.

Yes he won the Tour champion, the Masters, the Zozo (maybe somewhere else?) because he’s that freaking good. But there have been several times where he’s somewhat in contention and ends up finishing Top 25 or Top 10.

Whereas in his prime, if Tiger played remotely well, he generally won. His B game was good enough to win tournaments. Now it isn’t. He’s gotten worse and the other guys have gotten better.

I see the same with Spieth. Obviously he isn’t Tiger but it seemed like in his prime Spieth had the ability to run away with tournaments. Or at least to win, when in contention.

now, his B game or A game is just good enough for a guaranteed top 10. I suspect that will remain for the rest of his career.

maybe he will find his past form but I think it’s more likely he turns into a Kuchar kind of player. Lots of top 25 but not a lot of wins.

Spieth had the third greatest major championship year of all-time a few years ago. That’s who he was.

You missed the most important aspect of Spieth historical run; his putting. He putted his a** off to the umpteenth degree for a couple years. His strokes gained putting were unreal. Everyone knew it was not sustainable.

He's making alot of putts again. Hope he wins again soon.

Awesome. Yeah, I’ve read a little about how good he was, but definitely need to watch some of his YouTube footage and get a better feel for the history.

His strokes gained tee-to-green in 2015-2017 was 4th, 25th, and 2nd.  He was hitting it great.  Some putts may have fallen at important times, but it was not just a putting mirage.

I shouldn't of cut his ball striking short like I did. He truly was very good all around.  But his ability to drain putts put him over the top.

Nos. 1 and 2 would be Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus?  Or did Tiger have No. 1 and No. 2?  How about Ben Hogan in 1953?
