There are very few years that I have a driver that I absolutely love and that I'm not at all excited about any of the new offerings.  This is one of those years.  Couldn't be happier with my current SIM.

I agree, I had been playing the 2016 M2 for years and loved it. That said, the Sim is by far the best driver I have ever hit. Maybe it doesn't work for everyone but my driving distance and accuracy have been the best I have ever had this season with the Sim.

Is the D really that draw biased? How does it spin compared to the Sim and Max?

For me SIM MAX spun the most...almost 400 rpms on good strikes compared to the D.  The SIM of course being the lowest.  I think that Max D sets up closed to my eye looking at the face.  The paint line does a good job with "masking" this but I could see the built in draw bias in the standard setting.  Liking to play at 10* loft for my very neutral AOA, we went with the 12* Max D and loft sleeve set at "lowest" which actually looks perfectly square to a touch open at 10*.  We also hot melted to bring swing weight up on a 44.5" playing length and also to neutralize the stock draw based weighting in the head.  

 

I bet you would be good with a 9* Max D head turned to a lower loft to get it right.  Maybe go and hit one locally to see if it fits your eye and launch desires. Its really a nice set up now for me.  Very consistent...

Total speculation on my part, but I’m thinking either AV Raw series, or the PX RDX series.

I'll say this about that picture. When I had my M5 driver and the SIM pics were released, I thought the SIM was ugly. I feel the same way about this alleged SIM 2 driver and I can't see myself getting rid of my SIM for the SIM 2

It will be interesting to see the bias to this driver. The sim is absolutely fade biased (and I dont mind that). The new one places the front weight slightly toward the feel. I would assume this driver will be a more stable, neutral flight version of the sim. The weight they took from the sliding track is probably repositioned in the back somewhere, the weight upfront centers the bias of the original sim and ultimately it will be identical numbers with slightly more forgiveness on the most off-center hits. If anything, this one will spin a couple hundred rpm higher because of the weight repositioning and that alone will find the middle more often.

Checked out the pic on Reddit r/golf. Looks better than the first leaked pic that I saw. Looks like a M6 and SIM had a baby.

Thought I noticed that the face screws are gone. If I'm right then I think that would mean speedfoam is no more on the SIM, which would be a good thing because that mechanism inside the head broke after less than a year of playing the driver for me.

I personally love the color combo! I just hope it’s got a deeper face than the original sim. I am enjoying the sim max D at the moment though. I can’t wait to see these in person!
