It would not qualify as smooth, but I loved Nick Price's swing. Very simple repeatable swing with a piston like tempo. The kind of swing amateurs with not a lot of athletic ability can execute and be more consistent.

Swing aside, I was amazed at the impact sound the first time I watched Weekley hit balls. His iron impact sound is right up there with Norman, Woosnam, Price, Woods et al - that characteristic crunching fizz that only the very best are able to generate.

Thats still the butch 2000 swing to my eye. He just started working with Haney and doesn't look like much had changed at this point.

But the finest swing ever was and is Sam Snead. No one can compare.  If Sam's putting was as good as his swing was for his entire career, he would have won 5 US Opens easy.

Yeah I just liked how during the swing change time he was a bit less aggressive and slowed his tempo down a touch. You can just notice a bit of the Haney finish coming into play with the irons. And yeah Vijay just went off that year.

Totally agree. I think it looks a bit like Elk’s swing, which is obviously also pretty good.

Interesting comment.

Amongst the women pros, Ally Ewing has a simple, repeatable swing with that swift, 'clippy' tempo. Leona Maguire has that tempo, too.

Both will win plenty.
