In your opinion, who has the best swing on tour (any tour - PGA, LPGA, KFT, etc)?

Technically speaking? It's Adam Scott and it's not close. Aesthetically it's Rory or Oosty for me. I also love Rahm and Finau's action, JT as well. Have always had a soft spot for Jason Day's driver swing.

I think Robert Rock might give Adam Scott a run for the money as far as the mechanics of the swing.

Only problem is mechanics don't win, I'm comparing David to Goliath.

Sam Snead's rhythm and power are pretty tough to beat. Anne Van Dam has a great swing. I'm going to chuck in another I haven't seen in the thread though. Kyle Berkshire's speed is mind boggling. On his vlogs he does on the course, he's swinging "easy" at about 140mph clubhead speed. And when he really cuts loose, holy shizzle! I love watching it. Can watch him play for hours.

Love Wilco's swing too. Looks like he pats it...

Rory's swing before he changed to hit fades was about as perfect as one can do.

Snead is always my all time favorite. Singh is so close too.

Fred Couples and John Daly for me.

This swing and style was mind blowing

I remember being amazed, more so at the open, his soft hands…

he had a wonderful ability to hit “softer” shots…underrated

That honor would belong to Adam Scott in my book.  It's the modern prototype swing that every kid nowadays strives to emulate.

Chronologically –

Bobby Jones

Snead and Hogan

Watson and Trevino

Adam Scott

No offense to anyone, because everyone is entitled to their opinion and a lot of this is aesthetic judgment, but I’m really surprised how many folks are putting Rory on this list. I’m a big fan of Rory as a golfer, and I want to see him win more. But even when he burst onto the scene and won that small pile of majors, his swing always looked problematic to me: he *always* dropped it under plane, and always created the two-way miss. I was not ONE BIT surprised when he lost that first masters, because that huge hook was always lurking. Great golfer and seems like a great guy, but great swing? I don’t see it.

Lots of very effective swings out there. Not to boil it down to something clinical, but I'd say you'd need to look at results to make a proper call here. Pretty doesn't bring home the paychecks.

Sorry, but I can't get into the Couples camp if we're trying to call who's got the "best" swing. Sure, it's smooth and syrupy, but more or less, it's just unique to him. And it's worked pretty well for him, no doubt. That said, I can't think of anyone who's really modeled their swing after his. It's pretty in it's own way, but a bit of a unicorn.

Jack Nicklaus.

The swing dominated from the beginning of his PGA Tour career to even the Champions Tour. That is longevity.

To me, Jack's swing will always be the "perfect golf swing" as it's the first swing I tried to copy as a kid. If I were asked to describe a golf swing, I'm going to immediately picture Jack.

Agreed. I'm as a big a Boom Boom fan as they come and when it comes to tempo - sure, plenty to learn. But everything else? Uniquely his. There was certainly times when I was a teenager and tried to copy it. What I'd describe as "pick it up, turn, boom." I dunno if I was able to even hit the ball.

Is the best swing a copyable swing?

for me, the best swing is a swing that most repeatably sends the ball to the desired destination, as measured over decades and with the shortest ”low” periods. A swing that works best for the player using it.

Furyk swings the way he does, being the son of a club pro. That father knew(knows?) a good deal about golf.

Jack’s in the same category and he was also a strong fellow with a winner’s mind.

Best swing of all time:

Anthony Kim - perfect lines and perfect rhythm and tempo.  I challenge anyone to find an imperfection in his swing.

Stuart Appleby is right there

Close to Kim if not on par:

Trevor Immelmann

Robert Rock

some great swing but some tiny flaws:

Adam Scott (his balance sometimes gets too far out on his toes; know this won’t be popular because he has become a de facto answer but check it out and be honest)

Rory (he has a tendency to cross his swing plane line at the top of his swing causing him to come under plane, creating a two way miss)

Oosthuizen (same as Rory issue)

Tiger (dips for power causing inconsistencies and contributed to his stuck position especially on drives causing massive pushes)

Aaron Baddeley (his stack and tilt ways at times makes it tough to put in top)

overrated:

Couples: great rhythm and tempo but the lines. Oh man.  He crosses the line at the top with best of them (ex Daly).
