What putter did you just buy ?

Went Old School! Ping 50th Anniversary Anser. Hand Finished by John Karsten, “slope-side mold”, “A” serial number , from Allan Karsten’s personal casting mold. Love the shop dings. WW Golf had a few of these at a good price, I had to snag one. Practiced with it all day, just love the sound and feel, 350 grams. It‘s perfectly, imperfect! Now on to thirty six holes for the weekend to see if my Special Select NP2 gets benched!

I see some sold for $350 on eBay. Do you think it is worth it? I remember they were $900 when released. $350 is a steep discount from that but at the same time I can pick up a new Special Select for that price.

Picked up a Toulon Las Vegas H7 with weight kit and “Make It Rain” headcover plus stock cover. This is mint. I do not know if seller even soled the club on the ground. Not a single blemish anywhere. 10/10. $400cnd or about $280 usd all in.

For me, most definitely. Been playing Ping since the 70s and have always had Ping represented in my bag (even if it was only one club) and lived in PHX for many years.

I resisted the initial $999 price. I actually ordered three times and cancelled. But $399 was hard to pass on. It’s new. It’s mine. From John’s hands to my bag (or den ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) yeh, expensive but It’s kinda’ cool for an old Ping fanboy. Looks great in my new L8 bag next to my G710s.

Yeah I think $400 is reasonable for the history of the putter and being modernized a bit to today’s weight.

I cannot speak highly enough of this putter today. One of the best rounds of the year and I was making most every putt within ten feet. The sound/feel is, I believe where Ping is headed with their Heppler line. Acoustics that give confidence for repeated results. Loved the sound slot. Weight is spot on. Feel with the Pingman grip and stepped shaft is very lively. Making my Special Select NP2 feel dead in comparison and I have been loving that Scotty. So yes, worth four Benjamins. Plus the leather head cover (looks weird by itself) looks sweet in my L8 bag!

I just pulled trigger on one. Considering tungsten weight inserts from PING wrx are $250 this is a great deal imo.
