Anyone have a tip for getting lead tape to stick to the zx7? Mine came out at D2 and I need them at D4. The finish in the cavity is textured and lead tape will not stay put.

Hmm, mine haven't arrived yet but I'm expecting to be in the exact same boat. Are you saying it wont stick here?...

No, it will stick there, I'm sure. But it will take a lot of lead tape, a sharp exacto knife, and a lot of patience. Also, if it's several layers it might fly off eventually as the CG (lol) will move further out. I really wish they had tested lead tape against the finish in the cavity

If you only need one swing weight lead Tape should be fine if not I would pull the shafts and add tip weights to desire sw

Lead the field in GIR too

I was wondering when he would warm up to the ZX7 because he missed 2 cuts in a row and hit them like crap.  I thought he may go back

to the Mizuno JPX 919 Tour.

He sure was striping the ZX7 at the WMO.

Did you try heating the lead tape lightly with a heat gun-should become more malleable and possibly better adhesion?

Honestly never tried it but that’s about the only thing I can think of.

Or use 3M auto decal tape and lead tape on top. 3M should stick.

Will be a bit thicker tho and not sure of the total weight.

Anyone have experience with a heavier (like 100g+) graphite shaft in the ZX7.  For elbow reasons, I have to have graphite.  Have played every version of the Srixons the last decades and they are the best

I have had to have elbow surgery for tendinitis. I really like the Aerotech steel fibers. Also like the Fuji  pro tour spec iron shaft. Lots of great options these days in graphite. The steel fiber I’m using is the I-95 so a little lighter than what you’re looking for. Very sturdy shaft for the weight.

In the WITB photo edition is a bag with ZX7s with MMT 105TX in them. OP seems quite happy

Mine are on the truck for delivery with MMT 105. I may not be able to hit them for a couple weeks, though. MMT is based off of Dynamic Gold S400 I believe, in th 125 weight, I presume it is probably not too different in 105, just lighter. Anyway, I’ve been playing the 105TX soft stepped and it is great, albeit, still a bit stout for me so I am dropping down to the stiff flex. I was going to wait until Mitsubishi released the MMT 125 in stiff flex, but they have been promising that was coming for like 6 months now and I’m not sure if it will be anytime soon. I find no real difference in performance, but less elbow, finger and wrist pain. Also, I think graphite makes good feeling irons feel even softer.

Were the MMT 105 installed by Srixon?  If so, that is great news!  I know the MMT 105 were on back order when I ordered a little over 2 weeks ago.

Thanks for posting. Are those swingweights in line with what you were expecting? I'm assuming Srixon used the lighter "B" heads.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to order mine uncut so I can have my club builder adjust them to the right length and possibly just rebuild them from scratch.

I also play over-length irons and swingweight is always something that has been a challenge.

2nd vote for the AeroT's. I've had them in 745's and Miura's and they are fantastic.

I don't know of any manufacturer having them as an option, but the MMT 125S has been out for about a month.

Yes they are the lighter B weight heads. I was expecting D7ish so the D8ish that they came is perfectly fine for me. I just ordered them with the C-Taper X 130s because they were a no upcharge shaft. I'm reshafting them with Black C-Taper 130 X's this week which is not offered by Srixon. The Utility came a little lighter than I was expecting, but I was going to change that shaft anyways so I can address that then. All in all very happy with my ordered considering the problems I had with Taylormade earlier this winter.

I placed my order today.  4 iron ZX5, 5-PW ZX7, KSB TGI 95 shafts, TV 360 grips.  I was very excited to see that Srixon is now offering KBS TGI for a modest upcharge.  I paid a lot more to retrofit my 765s.  I don't dislike my 765s, but its close to four years at 140+ rounds per year, so its time.  Now that hard part, waiting.

I agree!

I had 2 sets of Z785 heads that I worked on last spring and each set had the consecutive heads 7grs different in weight. Amazing tolerances.

Same boat and usually play Recoil 110 F4, but I have mine coming with Recoil 95 F4's.  I also am happy when I go with the SteelFibers, but R flex there.  They are pretty stout in S flex IMO.  My Srixon Z945's are really sweet with the Recoil 110 F4's.

What grips are installed?  I always enjoy Grip Master leather grips.  I believe in standard size they come in at 46gm.  That can give you multiple swing weights depending on what you currently have.  Also, most of us are hooked on the grips once we try them!  They are tacky dry, and when wet with sweat or rain, they are more tacky.

My lofts and lies were all pretty spot on. I then proceeded to bend them to MP20MB spec

If you order through DD they always have your clubs shipped back to them first then they forward on.  At least that's always been my experience. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, I am fine with that. What is puzzling to me is why Srixon would only build and ship a single iron from a set. Kind of head-scratching.
