I don’t think Bryson’s short game or iron play is well suited for the Masters.  But I really don’t know how the course will play in November.

Tiger?  Just depends on how his back feels that week.

Short game will be the wild card for both of them.  If they can get up and down then their chances are pretty decent.  If anything, the course may play a little softer.  The weather almost the same in November is it is in April.  But who can predict the weather, right?

Tiger's back?  That's pretty much any tournament to be honest.  You can only do what your back will let you do.  Course knowledge and putting it in the fairway will be his primary weapons.  But I'm excited to see Tiger.  He's played sparingly this summer.

Who are we, as WRXers, excited to see or who is the general golf world excited to see or who is the sports world excited to see?

1. Me, just the event

2. WRXers are excited to see if Bryson can keep up with this board distance wise with the 48” shaft.

3. General average golfers, Tiger and it’s not even close.

4. The sports world, Tiger by more than the excitement generated by the rest of field combined times 10. Tiger is still the only one who moves the needle on major sports coverage whether we want to admit it or not. I think the tour is going to have some interesting times post El Tigre.

Bryson I guess.  If Tiger has an exceptionally good day and his back holds up, good for him.

Tiger's game is not trending in the correct direction. He was playing really well prior to his 2019 Masters win. Now, he is mediocre at best.

If Bryson is indeed going to put that 48 inch driver in play, it would certainly be entertaining.

In summary, Tiger probably will get a Top 25 finish at best. Bryson either will go low or MC entirely.

I agree...

Like most people..  I'll root for Tiger to win Majors, but I don't think he's committed to Golf like he used to.  I don't think he'll ever get back the touch/control like he had before.

If Bryson can control the 48 inch driver.. watch out world..

It's pathetic to center the conversation around 1 or 2 players.  It's The Masters and it's going to be an incredible event as always, regardless if neither guy makes the cut.

We will all be watching and will see Augusta like we have never seen before. No fans, no grandstands, no roars. The course will appear to be wide open. We’ll have to make our own pimento  cheese sandwiches to get in the proper mood.

I'm just going to split it in two. First two days, it's Tiger.  By the weekend if he hasn't faded away, it's BD.

TW has more talent in his toenail clipping than BDC will ever have. BDC needs to get any edge he can to keep up with the real golfers, that means fixed length irons, drinking a gallon of protein shakes on the course, 48 inch driver, etc. All that just to have a shot of winning. Meanwhile TW does it the old fashioned way, by being GOOD AT GOLF.

I'm interested in seeing how BD plays when he hits it 350yds.... into the trees.

Same way Tiger did when he was young.   Bomb it and look concerned when walking off the tee box.  Then take a little iron from the trees to the green to make bird or par, then move to the next hole.

Best explained in a formula.

Here's Tiger's approach:

Long from Tee + Excellence in Scrambling + Excellence in Putting = lots of wins and arguably the GOAT (of the modern era)

I have formulas for "most" golfers.

Here is Jordan Spieth:

Not so long from the tee + beard guy caddie + played like a kid + early  success  + marriage  =  game fell of a cliff

Bryson.  He's going to make Augusta his own playground having wedges into the par 4's and mid iron to short irons into the par 5's.  With such short rough, I'm inclined to believe he will be reaching for driver on almost non par 3 holes.

I'm very interested to see Bryson at the Masters. I think it sets up very well for him as bombers do well there, that was always Phil's strategy (hit it as far as you can) for Augusta

I think if he wins the Masters there risks being a worldwide monocle shortage shortly thereafter

All eyes on Bryson for this. If he steps up and wins, he becomes a dominant force. Back to back Majors, on the verge of legend.

He be the man!

Tiger? Not his year. Obviously not very serious, prolly been staying away from people cause ‘Rona, hitting balls in his yard in between bites of prosciutto and melon and kicking the soccer ball back to his kids.
