How many of you WRXer's have a backup bag?

I am not sure I can say I have a backup bag but I do have former gamers I could cobble up into a set if need be.  This would be:

 

Driver: Titleist 905S/905T 9.5°

3 Wood: Titleist 906 F2 15°

Irons: Ben Hogan 1999 Apex blades (3-PW)

GW: Miura 50°

SW: Cleveland RTG 54°

LW: Titleist Vokey SM6 58°

Putter: TP Mills Heritage

I was thinking the same thing!  I have a backup bag, a vintage bag, a minimalist bag, a lefty bag, a minimalist bag of “heritage” family clubs, and a bag for any friends that come into town and want to play, but didn’t bring their sticks.  All of these bags are in some general state of disassembled, but i could have any one of them ready for play first thing tomorrow, if so needed.

I had a full backup comprised of old clubs that I've replaced but found somebody to buy the whole bag! Guess it's time to buy new clubs so I can have a backup bag again 😁

I have exactly identical clubs for my backup bag, it's not fully assembled as yet, but I do have everything for it.

I could outfit a Jr Varsity team with bags. 
 

No justification required. It’s the only activity I am really invested in beyond my wife and children.

I'm a hoarder....I used to ' Retire ' full intact bags about every other year...

 

Once I had a bag fully dialed in , I would become bored and begin the build and fit process on the next one

 

More than 10 fully intact bags with all yardage gaps and trajectory dialed into my swing at the time...

 

Just a few of my drivers , these are just the Taylormade and Cobras with dedicated premium shafts that fit my swing ....many more if I were to include my Adams , and heads that shared shafts..

 

Fairways ....

 

I don"t have to further bore you with pics of all my sets of irons, wedge sets or my 68 premium putters....

 

I think I'm starting to embarrass myself...and over expose the extent of my club addiction....

8 drivers

7 FW’s

6 hybrids

5 putters

6 wedges 

about to order 3 more wedges and another putter.

As with so many others, I have several sets of previously gamed irons lying around. I could probably put together 3 or 4 sets if I want, but that's just getting started for this group.

 

Drivers: at least 4 TS3 or 917 models

Fairway woods:  915 or 910 3w

Hybrids: 818H2 or Cobra Baffler Pro

Irons: MP54, MP32, JPX 825 Pro

Wedges:  Vokey SM6 or SM7

Putter: Taylor Made Kia Ma Rossa Fontana

I keep a bag at my in laws lake house for when we visit.  It has the same irons as I use in my gamer bag, Nike VRS Forged irons. The rest of the backup bag:

 

Cobra F8 driver

TM M4 3HL wood 

3-4 Callaway BB hybrids

Nike Engage wedges

Odyssey Stroke Lab 7

 

Honestly, i could be perfectly happy using this set up as my main bag if I had to.

I wasn't sure I should respond to this.  Ugh.

 

Like many/most here, I have gone through quite a bit of equipment.  Unlike many here, I don't sell much of the equipment I've gone through, at least in the realm of drivers and putters, maybe fairway woods...

 

In a given golf season, I will rotate through my bag at least a half dozen drivers, three fairway woods, six to eight sets of irons, a number of wedges and putters.  I also alternate between carrying one of a couple hybrids or carrying an iron in that loft slot.

 

So....   I guess I do have a backup bag, of sorts, but it's more like a backup grab bag.

Actual back-ups:

 

565 irons - two sets for travel or testing shafts

Putters - Multiples of same type or head shape (long neck white hot, or Odyssey #5)

 

Lots of drivers and 5 woods, but those are "extras" or "oldies" or "projects", and not back-ups.

Like most here I move through equipment but I've always had the tendency in my hobbies to never keep spares. To me it's wasted potential in a way, I really hate having stuff sit around and collect dust (I would make a terrible collector). Maybe it's some sort of OCD but I have 0 spares of anything. If something breaks I'm out till I can get a replacement.

I was planning to build an "Office Bag" which I kept at work, I have the driver, I have the shafts I play, I have a few extra wedges, I have enough putters to fill it's own bag. But with how little golf I've been able to play (lockdown) I might have decided to just buy more custom putters 🤷‍♂️

The only break to this rule is for some reason I held on to 2 broken shafts, one driver and a fairway. Was trying to convince myself to build speed sticks but seems dangerous since both were tip shatters and I'm not even sure how I would build the weight and have it secured safely

The wife got a little easier when I showed her that all this horse trading I've been doing has resulted in a free set of irons I really enjoy. I'm not just spending a bunch of money, I've actually made a little back.

Valid point.  I wanted to see if it was me that had a problem because I am constantly tweaking my set and i've accumulated a ton of stuff over the years.  Glad to see I'm not alone. 🙂

Same boat, was trying a bunch of drivers and fairways making a couple bucks here and there. It's pretty fun finding really good deals and trading your way up!

If it makes you feel better, I have over 40 drivers, and somewhere between 10 and 15 sets of irons.  Most of these could be ready to go at a moment's notice.
