How long does Bryson keep the vibes going?

I hope so. I think the Bryson / Brooks nonsense has run its course. I liked the hug at the end of the player's question/answer session. Was glad to see JT put them up to it.

Not to mention, but I feel like most of it is started by the media. Similar to the Phil and Tiger "beef" that wasnt all that serious, but the media led us to believe those two absolutely hated each other.

Mostly PING clubs, with TaylorMade woods.

BDC went a huge way in reshaping his image/brand this past weekend, his detractors aren't going to change their mind about him, but those that were on the fence line probably went over to his side, he showed he could be a Team player, and still be entertaining..He is a lightning rod, that will Never change...

He will bring fresh eyes to the Long Drive contest that normally would have gotten a firm Pass by golf purists...I dont see anyone else in the competition that could hang with him for 18 holes even if he gave them two shots per side

He's a bit "different", and needs some real coaching about how to get filters in place before talking to media.  I think underneath he's a good person, no matter the stuff that sometimes eludes the filter.

I think SM9K is on to something here.   Bryson is a good guy.   And, let's face it, no one is born with the ability to (confront) deal with the media.  The "filters" come with experience.   Remember, it took Tiger a number of years to gain comfort with the media.  Annika would blow tournaments to avoid fanfare and the media.

In 2-3 years, Bryson will be like any other player.

BDC has always been an outlier in terms of showing up for media day with a PC, organized playlist. It’ll keep him from winning ALL the hearts and minds for some time, IMO, because he’s always going to go off the cuff. It’s who he is.

… that being said, I think a lot of opinions changed after he dropped the hammer on Sergio’s a** with the first tee shot Sunday morning. I literally laughed out loud when the eagle putt fell and said “well, so much for that match point for the Euros.”

I hope nothing but the best going forward for him and I think he’s going to be great.

He’s a legend, now. Driving the first green on Singles Day of the 2021 Ryder Cup — and holding up his PUTTER to show everyone in attendance, the TV production crew, and those watching at home that he was gonna walk off the TEE BOX and down the fairway with the flat stick is just LEGEND. Won’t be forgotten

And then he made the putt.  Sergio like:

I was watching a reply last night. They were showing the post cup celebrations. All the players were celebrating, taking pictures with each other and loved ones etc. You could see Bryson all by himself just kinda walking around like he was lost, looking for something to do. It was very awkward looking and I honestly felt kinda bad for him. Anyone else notice this?

Yea all the other players walked off with giant Champaign bottles and after throwing stuff to the crowd he walked off holding a protein shake

If BDC wants to make it happen then he can do it. All he needs to do is keep his mouth shut. Hit more 400 yard bombs and STFU about cameramen, tour officials, and fire ants. It's that simple. People love to see long bombers (look at the following Daly still has) and BDC will be a fan favorite if he just shuts his mouth.

I hope that Bryson learned something about really embracing your fellow golfers as that, fellow golfers. I can see how intense it is on the golf course but it doesnt mean you need to be a big D when it comes to interacting with others. Take a look at how Bubba was early in his career as well as Patrick Reed right now. I get how every one wants to have a brand but for your golf followers like all of us are, we need some sort of connection with these guys and we really are looking for guys we can cheer on. We love the intensity but tone down the me me me thing that too many people even outside of golf strive for. I think he can do it. Just enjoy the game and the competition but take it all in stride since there are a lot of guys including myself who would love to be inside the ropes on the weekend.

After watching Bryson’s performance with the majority of fans on his side for once, it was apparent that if he was supported this much on tour he’d play a hell of a lot better.

I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve the crap people give him, but he’s great for the game when he’s playing well.

I've been kind of ambivalent about Bryson but after watching him in the RC, all I can think of is God, what a blast it must be to play golf like that!

Having said that, I put the over/under to when he does something weird, off-putting or irritating at 30 days. I just think it's in his DNA.

Such as openly urinating on a plane or fighting Ernie Els?

Hoping he realized this weekend that he can be very likeable, just needs to leave the sideshow PR missteps in the past. Everyone loves the long ball; he has so much potential to be a fan favorite. Owning up to mistakes and apologizing every once in a while gets you redemption from the fans. Look at JT, who just overcame a PR nightmare. Time will tell though, he is Bryson after all.

I saw a show on Mohammad Ali. Yes, controversial figure but all politics aside…

For years as a contender, he acted insane. He shouted from the rooftops, he wore a crown into the ring for a fight in England.

But once he took out Liston. He basically said,

I’m the champ now. Don’t need to act like a clown anymore.

This is the kind of thing that makes me feel bad for Bryson.

But then the times where he's an a-hole offset that.
