Better late then never due to that historic front that came through Texas! I Fortunate enough to get out yesterday for a round of golf and the new setup performed flawlessly. Changing of the guard from my old M5 10.5 w Accra TZ6-cb; this MySim2 9 degree was the ideal loft to get my spin even lower to the ideal number I needed. The visuals I am afforded due to the custom options via the MySim2 build gave me a ton of confidence when squaring up to the ball. The sound is a touch lower but sharper compared to the M5 for the betterment in my opinion. Nice piercing ball flight with a great response off the face!

Very nice. I have ordered MYSIM2 in Red.

I talked to TM today and the same grip issue. They can't alter the order, they said it has to come from GG.

I'm going to try GG again tomorrow and really push.

Ordered from GG on 1/22 and finally decided to check with TM today. Freaking grip is holding it up and is backordered until 3/26. I left the grip stock Z Grip because I figured there is no way they run out of those. Well they did and GG can't alter an order. They can cancel and order again but that puts me in the back of the line. Oh well, maybe this is fate telling me I should just stick with my Ping.

Which grips did you guys order?  I have mine with the ZGrip Blk/Gry and on TMs ordering site that said it's in stock on 3/2 but a different ZGrip does have the stock date of 3/26.  I have to go to the PGATSS anyway this Saturday so I'm going to ask about my order as well.

Good catch. I ordered the standard stock Taylormade Z Grip. Maybe the CSR at TM I spoke to looked at the wrong grip. I did call GG to ask about cancellation and re-ordered. After a few minutes, they got back to me and said they couldn't cancel as the order was already being built. I don't think anyone really knows the actual truth of the situation.

So both of the SIM2s are in. Specs...

SIM2 Max 9 Degree

Ventus Black Velecore 6S

ZCord Grip

44.75"

SIM2 8 Degree

Ventus Blue Velecore 6S

ZCord Grip

44.5"

Both builds looks great. The one thing I'm seeing is quite heavy head weights. Has anyone else measured?  Some quick pictures below.

My SimMax came in at 195g headweight, I had it hotmelted to 200g.

The Sim2Max came in at 204g.

Have not had a chance to hit them yet but the Sim2Max, Sim2 3W and hybrid all arrived/look great at least.

Hopefully they do as last year, and split this data out by swing speeds. Results varied great across the different categories last year, and what was good for the goose wasn't always good for the gander.

I think everyone would agree, partisanship aside, what they do there is generally very good for the golfing community. However, tests like this are misleading to me. Everyone stresses get fit, get fit, get fit. Then we lump an insane amount of data together from what looks to be a tremendously broad spectrum of players. In no way shape or form is that representative to the average consumer. The average consumer doesn’t hit a drive 210 one hole and then 325 the next, which is about what their range looked like on that chart they posted. I just wish they would either display performance based on tiers of swing speed, or allow for the filtering of it.

I know that they will likely release a fast and slow swing speed later on, but releasing their report with all 18k shots, and not able to filter swing speed, in one report is a bit of a gimmick for a brand who claims to be anti gimmick. Just my opinion, but it screams, “look at us we have so much data, what we tell you has to be right!”. Now if they release a tiered one later and all the drivers are relatively the same then I’ll happily eat my words, but I think we all know that probably wont be the case.

Thanks @dcmidnight Both of mine are in at 205g. I actually added a weight to my M3 to get it right at 205g and played with with a Tensei Pro White 70S. That thing felt perfectly weighted. But both of these builds feel a hair heavy. I'm going to take a month, wait for some decent weather and then really test both. Possibly tweak the back weight to get them into the 200/201g range.

💯

I’m a big proponent of robot testing, just need to hit shots high, low, toe and heel of the clubs.  At least with the robot you can control variables.

My SIM2Max came in at 194.8grams and hot melted it 9.5grams to play with my build at 204.3grams head weight which felt heavy but plating at 44.5" Tensei AV Raw Blue 65S/tipped 1/2" and with a 65gram grip brings it exactly to D3...so far on course its perfect for me.

I am sure Billy Bobs and alike will have the different TPS screws and rear screws available very soon.  Tuners dream set up.

my custom order is taking forever to be built. I've been stuck on the compiling custom components for your product stage for over a week. I emailed and TM said nothing is on back order but itching to get this thing out on the course!

Yeah and unfortunately you may get no further update until it’s shipped. I’ve order a driver off the website the past 4 years and each time the status was “order being processed” from day 1 up to when they finally shipped 45 or so days later.  Don’t expect any progress update status at all.

First reaction is I'm going to be sticking with the SimMax. No surprised but the head with the hotmelt in it sounds better to me. It was my first day hitting balls in a few months so its just an initial though, still a decent amount of testing to do.

My sim2 max head came in at 194g and with the shorter shaft felt light so I added 5g of hotmelt and weighting feels great and the head didn’t get that dead muted sound. I was worried with it being quiet already that the hot melt would make it feel dead.
anyone wanting to get a home hotmelt gun get the advanced gun from hotmelt.com

Just got fitted into Sim2 9 degree with PX HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 6.0. Went with the mindset that I'd be leaving with the Ping G425 LST and left with this. Haven't been this pumped to add a driver to the bag ever. Was skeptical about the HZRDUS RDX line and was blown away with this combo. Very happy with the clubhead weight/shaft combo. Won't be adding any hot melt or lead tape at this point.

I read that Project x says there will be no small batch or hand crafted series and all shafts are real deal. I haven’t seen the blue in person but the black does say hextow on it. Aftermarket comes with different paint if I am understanding correctly and the TX flex

Yes seems to be the case. This driver looks less fade bias which I'm into. Ideally I'd like 60TX but it seems that isn't even an upcharge option.

I've heard the same and watched a few of the reviews that were posted when the RDX Blue was release. Based on the TXG review of the RDX Blue the "HexTow" is essentially TT's response to Fukijura's "Velocore". Having hit the RDX Black 70 6.5 in a Sim2 I have a hard time believing that its in the same ballpark as a $250 upgraded shaft as I found it to be much softer and less stable than anything in the Ventus lineup. If I had to pick what its most similar to I'd choose the Ventus Blue 6S even though its a 72G 6.5. I'd be interested in trying the TX as I'm guessing it could be similar to the AV Raw with "more premium" materials

Now I think the RDX Black fits a huge fitting window and will be a great shaft for a LOT of people but the point that its like a Ventus with zero upcharge just isn't fair

Are many people receiving their SIM2 drivers? I had a relatively simple custom order placed on the first day of preorders and still no word on status. Feels like this thread is a little stagnant with lots of other talk but not too much in the way of first hand reviews/ comparisons to SIM.

Might be because some people who have them can’t get out to play with all the crazy weather.

Can confirm Sim2 is not as fade biased as the original. Would say neutral setting at address but can turn over easily.
