Those little rubber tees you get for $1… they work fine and you don't lose them. Wood tees suck.

Probably mentioned before in the previous 1,000 posts…Vokeys are a textbook case of the emperor’s new clothes. They are ok but nothing special. And they discontinued their one good wedge, the V grind.
 

Various competitors spin more, lose less spin when there is moisture on the ball or face, feel softer etc

Here's another hot take: the guys are TXG, who can't keep the same 14 clubs in their bag for longer than 6 weeks, are proving indoor fittings are just one step above snake oil.

If you barely “have time” for short game or practice in general. 
you really can’t say you hit 8-pw the best. you’re going to hit everything poor without practice.

Also you can’t be a “decent ball striker” and barely have “consistent” results across all the clubs in your bag.

The problem is they're never in stock. At list the 3 1/4" ones. They've been out of stock for at least 6 months. I don't know how this place stays in business.

Sometimes a brand like Wilson or Tour Edge can make a really decent club but it’s overlooked because of the brand

Also paintfill with custom colors looks like garbage 99% of the time. Just stick with black/white or no paintfill at all. Putters are an exception.

Along those lines, if you are above a 5 handicap, you're not a 'good ball striker'.  Maybe a good ball striker 'for your handicap'... but not a good ball striker.

The sole of a club is almost the most important part of the fitting which makes indoor testing borderline worthless since you will not be able to tell at all

How's this for unpopular? Tee box has zero to do with index, has everything to do with average distance of classic 28* #5i. The factor is 35. So for a guy who hits an average of today's #6i to 180, he's supposed to play 6300 box. Play blues, my friends play white. They cart, I walk. I'm faster. That factor is the reason.
