If these are forged, what's the purpose of the toe screw? Would they have a hollowed out area to allow swing-weighting? Love the looks just curious about that.

Love the look of these. As others have said, interested to hear what Ping has to say about them. I am not sure they would help my game but they sure look pretty.

I wonder if they could do some sort of raw finish with these? Or will the Hydro Pearl finish give it more that satin look? But happy to see Ping trying new things.

I hope they some how get rid of all the wording on the back and keep them clean looking.

You'll hear lots of complaints about hydropearl, but I like it. Initial use scuffs up the finish but with time and wear it smooths out and looks great.

These look pretty cool, but thinking they are hollow with screw as the fill point.

Doubt they are hollow other than maybe a drilled cavity for swingweighting.

I'm with Nesseism on this one. Weighting in the tip of the toe will have a

larger influence on swing weighting. Less weight needed to achieve greater values.

No way they could glue their standard weighted badge to this iron , and not

taken away from the classic aesthetics in this design.

I really hate the fake forged claims, which I suspect this is (either a forged face only, or forged hollow-body), but if they feel like the iBlades I'll forgive them. These look like a raw finish not hydro, but they'll probably be released with the latter, and I'm guessing March/April.

These are clearly the most compact Ping irons ever (smidge more than S55), which is intriguing but also a little scary. That sole looks hella-unforgiving -- extremely narrow with a pretty sharp leading edge. I'll enjoy putting these through their paces, but I suspect my iBlades will stay put in the end. Really hard to top their combination of feel, forgiveness and workability. (For my money, the most forgiving iron for its size ever made by any manufacturer).

PXG knock offs. Shocking scenes.

Riiiiigggghhhhttt. PXG doesn't have anything in their stable that resembles this. You say that about the i500's and I won't argue with you. But, what about this iron says PXG? The fact that it may have a hollow section? You know PXG wasn't the first to use that type of design. Also, if it is hollowed out, it would appear to only be the bottom of the club. But, in that regard, we really don't know at this point.

They don't have the hosel notch

Good catch -- that suggests more than merely a forged face. Still might be hollow head, but we'll see.

They look fantastic. Seem to have just a touch more junk in the trunk than your standard MB club which may invite diggers that are concerned about the thin soles typically found on MB style irons. Seems that there is substantial mass very low on the face (ie, a low but thick "muscle" pad). Wonder how they'll play out of the rough where you can tend to catch the ball high on the face at times.

In any case I hope they are a big success for Ping that leads to them thinking more "traditionally" which in turn leads to removing the idiotic turbulators from their woods and hybrids.

We usually agree on such things but I’m going with hollow. It looks like that top line is relatively thick and has been rolled over and angled just right to disguise its thickness.

Im guessing Fake “forged” again. 2 Welded together pieces. Which just isn’t “forged” to me. Whatever the case, they are interesting and fairly attractive in a “pingy” industrial sort of way.

P790. PXG. I500. CF16. My Hogan PTx,...etc,etc... Sooooo many models are now called “forged” but are really two pieces welded together.

“Forged” in my book will always be a one piece head hammered out of a single piece of red hot steel. Just forging the face and welding It on a cast body,....or even onto a forged body, doesn’t fit that description for me.

The turbulators bothered me for about 5 holes when I first got my G400. I don't even know they are there now.

I actually have come to like them. Plus, I think they are actually working. The club head sounds so different while swinging. Like you can tell it has less resistance.
