The issue has nothing to do with you being a poser (in which I couldn't care less as it's your clubs and you bought them with your hard earned money so who am I do judge). The issue is that ***** of a guy going through your stuff without your permission. It is the equivalent of breaking and entering your car or house. I would've knocked the guy out if someone was going through my stuff.

I have never encountered anyone that had the balls to mess with my clubs without permission, and have an ALL Titleist bag with Titleist headcovers. Honestly, I wouldn't use Titleist headcovers on a non-Titleist club but others may. Why, haven't a clue. Having said that I don't see using a Titleist headcover as a dirty DB word "poser" implies.

 

Side note, Cobra used to be owned by Titleist. Back then lots of people had Titleist headcovers on Cobra clubs, not the other way around. I don't recall anyone caring then. Today, however, there are a lot more superficial people that seek acceptance.

OP - probably would have ended the story after "On the 2nd tee box, this guys starts going through my bag and pulls off my head covers. He see's I have a Cobra wood under a Titleist cover and says, "You're a Poser"".

 

Also, assuming I was not rendered speechless by the sheer arrogance of the encounter, not sure how I would have had any response other than - a joking "Not all of us are sponsored...gotta scrape together whatever I can find."

It's debatable that factoring in the carbon footprint of the batteries and hybrid drive train paints them as potentially worse for the environment, but that a topic for another discussion.

Actually, taking Prius out of the conversation, sometimes the car someone drives can provide a clue as to their character. Many times it’s a “poser” move in and of itself. ?‍♂️

Id say he's the jerk for making such a big deal about what headcover you have on what club. Even still, you shouldnt have let him get to you. He called you a, "poser". So what? He shouldnt care what clubs you have but you also shouldnt care what think about what headcover you have on your clubs and whether or not the brands match.

I have Wilson staff covers on my cobras cause I like the way they look. I used Adams headcovers for 10 years on whatever was under them cause I liked how they looked. Could care less. I have a friend that uses socks on his high end fitted woods. He wouldn’t beat anyone’s a** on the tee but he pummels quite a few on the golf course

You’re definitely a poser. Especially to the all Titleist guy.

 

The bigger question would be, “Who cares?” You have serious issues that need to be worked through somehow if you fly off the handle simply by being accused of being a poser. Really.

 

When you become an adult, the proper response would be a shrug of the shoulders. Maybe a shake of the head. And probably a roll of the eyes to your friend.

 

Keep working at it, you’ll get there someday. If it seems hard and confusing, it certainly can be, seek professional counseling to help you get to the real you.

I don't ever notice what's in people's bags, nor do I pay attention to it. Nor does anyone else on the courses I play. So if this happened to me ... I'd probably just go "ok?" and then ignore the guy. Which, I think, is a pretty healthy response to this kind of stuff.
