What TW wouldn't give to be a know it all on GolfWRX right now, a regular joe going to a skins game at the local muni.  Too many highs and lows at the superstar level.  I still think he did not seem that blitzed at the Genesis, and at that hour of the morning of the crash, I lean to speeding/distracted, like texting or something, but who knows.   Only know him as an image, still feel for the guy.  Cannot imagine being rolled into an surgery room that many times in an otherwise healthy life.

What I read from the hospital said both legs were operated on weren't they? The right was much much more serious though.

That was the way I interpreted it, not sure if it's correct though. All the early reports said both legs seriously injured but sounds like the right was much more severe.

You know...I think for many on here the comments are a stream of consciousness, like hanging around the waiting room waiting for news about a friend or coworker. It's only natural to just say whatever. All comments are from people who have feelings for Tiger and posting something as a way to say, thinking about you. We are not Tiger's friend or coworker but media allows us to feel that way.

Any talk of a return to golf at this point is very premature. Not only are the leg and ankle injuries severe, but keep in mind that the impact itself may have caused other issues that are as yet unknown. Before the details came out, I found myself wondering how such a jolt might have affected his recently-repaired back, for instance. Seems likely that we will not be seeing him at a golf course for quite a while without crutches or a chair. Wishing him all the best for recovery to let him live a normal life off the course.

I'd like to know this as well.. I don't believe he's been using the scotty outside of competition.. all the pics I've seen online of his "celebrity" matches have shown various TM putters in his bag... Likely for advertising/marketing..

I will be truly shocked if he ever plays pro golf competitively again.  If he were in his 20s I'd have some optimism about resurrecting a workable game.

Yes indeed. The fact that they had to cut the muscle casing (on top of multiple open fractures) means he was likely at risk for losing the foot/lower leg. He very well may have an alex smith like road to recovery

Alex Smith got complications a few days after the surgery due to a flesh-eating disease. He almost lost his leg. Tiger isn’t out of the woods yet due to his compound fracture, but hoping that he does just fine.

Dr. Selene Parekh discusses Tiger Woods' severe injuries due to his car crash, including reports of a compound fracture to both his tibia and fibula as well as a severely fractured ankle. There is also compartment syndrome which has potentially caused significant vascular (artery, vein) damage as well.

 

 

There are allready topics on his accident. However, I think it would be good with a topic that specifically discuss his injuries.  This is the best information I have found so far. The reasons for his crash, how it happened or speculations about his private life, or if you are a fan or not can be discussed under those other topics.

 

It would be nice if people could contribute with updates on his status, but also if they themselves have experience from similar accidents etc.

It was "positive" to hear he was stable enough after the accident to endure a longer trip to a larger trauma facility.   

 

Every time he's been counted out, he's returned to compete.  

I think a full recovery is in Tiger's future.
